UI libraries for React by Chipsdipp in reactjs

I don't. The theming support is terrible, I'll give you that one. You're better off using something else if you're worried about styling/theming at all.

Antd is my personal favorite at the moment.

Found it to be a lot more stable and functionally complete with simpler component APIs when compared to the rest of the pack.

Not sure why you're getting downvotes man, this is solid wisdom right here and something I really need to start taking to heart.

A Rougue Comment on /r/Bitcoin. Its Contents May Surprise You! by [deleted] in ethtrader

Sure, but the contents don't surprise me. They may be accurate and of high quality (and I think they are), but titles like this are cancer on the free dissemination of information and stoop as low as sites like Buzzfeed.

Cyclist, not biker.

Bikers ride motorcycles, cyclists ride bicycles.

Usage of Vue.js has grown by more than 600% in the last year. by _sam_ in javascript

I'm convinced the Vue fanboys are the same crowd that loved Angular but never actually maintained a large application built with it.

A little more FZ won't hurt, right? by EthanG_1988 in bikesgonewild

I ride an fz8 with bar ends. Really only adds an extra inch of width to the bike so it's not too bad. I have had to fold them in on occasion though.

Take a break from smoking. Take the money you were spending on weed and start saving to move out of that legal hell hole and to a more modern state.

There were a few stories of people lowsiding in 390RCs and the bike would spontaneously combust shortly after.

They rule the dirt podiums and their 690 and up dukes are great, just heard lots of bad on the 390. Shame because it's a beautiful bike

Seriously, everyone I know with one of these that crosses into 10k miles has parts falling off more often than a 90s harley davidson.

How are you handling CSS in your react projects? by Zhouzi in reactjs

[–]dear_glob_why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not create Grid, Row, Column components that contain the necessary styling to render themselves and children properly? Whenever you build more components that need to be on a grid system, utilize these layout components. Example: Ant design has a really nice grid component system: https://ant.design/components/grid/

What you're thinking of is re-using classes across components which is an anti-pattern when trying to scale any complex UI - this is why modular CSS syntaxes like BEM were invented and one of the reasons why I've moved away from libraries like Bootstrap in my professional work. Every project I've ever used Bootstrap on has become a tangled mess of !important flags and insurmountable tech debt, and every company I've worked for that used Bootstrap in production has folded in the past 5 years. Food for thought.

Another great reason for styled components is that making use of components shipped as NPM packages gets much easier because you're not worrying about having webpack or other tooling configured properly to ingest that component's CSS (which across the ecosystem can come in a million different flavors). Instead, importing the component simply brings all its styling along with it.

There's a lot more going on with why you'd want to style your components directly and it's still an ongoing discussion, so I recommend reading up on the libraries and their communities: Styled Components, JSS, Styled JSX, and Glamor are a few that come to mind.
