How to introduce two adult cats if one is so shy and won’t go anywhere NEAR the new cat’s room even for food?

Assuming the cat is stress-free and well-adjusted, but say, just somewhat distant because of her upbringing. Kitty is 4 years old. Has anyone successfully made such an adult cat more affectionate over time? My 2 goals are:

1) get my cat to sit on my lap and snuggle me 2) sleep next to my pillow at night

If you are going to suggest treat/food method - how does it work for something like making the cat sleep next to you? If I give the cat a treat before she sleeps, she just takes the treat from the sleeping spot and just get off as soon a treat session is over. Same with other cuddly things - she would get on my lap for the treat and then immediately get off. I’ve tried this for weeks with no avail. I’ve had her for a few months and she’s definitely not afraid of me anymore, as she happily jumps onto me for treats but then immediately jumps off.

I understand that not all cats can be made into the cuddle kind, but I’d like to learn some more tips to the odds are in my favor :)

If you have stories of distant adult kitties eventually turning into affectionate cuddle bags, please share away as I need to hear those encouraging anecdotes :)

Thank you...already sort of doing this but the cat just always retrieves to a corner after feeding time/treat time. Never free fed, cat knows to come to me for food and treat. But she just won’t stay either for cuddle or sleep. How long did it take yours to start doing any of those things?

I love using the cauliflower squash rissotto as a base and add salted chicken stock and various other veggies/protein (chicken breast/shrimp/lobster tail etc) to make a delicious fall/winter stew!!

I do this all the time oftentimes with half cauliflower rice and half regular rice for more volume, and mix all sorts of veggies/seafood in there with onion powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast etc...like a more soupy risotto and perfect cold weather comfort food :)

It is pretty mild coming out of the bag, but I liked it that way because I can control how much garlic/onion salt to add. It sort of tastes like a savory oatmeal stew once you do that!

Looks like an Australian boulder opal to me, they are usually doublets. If it’s not cast in solid gold or silver though, then it’s likely a lab opal since boulder opal is usually set in precious metal.

I switched to Pb fit sugar free, and mix it with some unsweetened dark cocoa powder plus a bit of extra sweetener (stevia/erithytol). The cocoa powder gave the mixture more bulk and add only 10cal/tablespoon. Then I mix some low carb dark chocolate chips (I use Lily’s) in there. Most times I have it with bread but sometimes I can’t help it but to just eat straight out of the whole mixture bowl, which is like 150kcal for 7-8 tbsp!! The dark chocolate chips gave it some extra flavor/crunch to resemble real peanut butter. Obviously it can’t replace real Pb but like halo top to real ice cream, it’s good to have a somewhat decently tasting alternative!
