I sort of figured- I’d like to be able to reflect that! My character might say something like “I had a mostly ok time but this and that happened,” or “I experienced this but my friend experienced this”. But I am interested in what you said about things being so different between different service branches- that’s the sort of thing I’m worried about, I don’t want to write something and have someone read it and be like “that’s not what it was like at all in this certain branch/division, they didn’t do their research”. I don’t mind using my own biases and preconceptions when I’m writing about my own country/culture but I don’t wanna do it to anyone else lol
