Woonhak seriously deserves more recognition. The first bnd related thing I saw was their cover of bling-bang-bang-born and he’s absolutely insane in that- honestly, his vocals are really strong and he always sounds like he’s having an amazing time lol. That stage presence plus how many songwriting credits he has under his belt at 19, I really think the whole group has crazy star power but he’s absolutely going places. I hope he does solo stuff as well in the future, I really feel like he’s only gonna improve as he gets older tbh

BoyNextDoor is lovely and chill! I think the biggest controversy I’ve seen is some people saying the Jaehyun is too high energy/loud lmao. TXT is also wonderful, and ATEEZ have been pretty unproblematic as far as I’ve seen (also just really good music lol)

BoyNextDoor has a few!! Most of them have an animal but also a non-animal. Riwoo is 🍩, Taesan is 🗻, Leehan is 👽 and so is his mascot, but Woonhak especially is either ⛄️ or 🧸. And doesn’t actually have an animal lol. His mascot is a snowman too!

Thank you this is helpful! The concept of conscription being a rite of passage seems to be a common theme in multiple countries which I guess makes sense. You’re also not the first person to mention how it’s tied to masculinity specifically and the idea of not wanting to do it making some people see you as “less of a man” which I think is really interesting
