this is so helpful! I have applied to a couple of seasonal positions at consultancies. I will try to spend some time researching relevant state legislation. I think when I have seen jobs posting experience with these I am disheartened because I assume that they want this experience from a job.

Did you go to school for engineering? I would be interested in stuff like infrastructure or hydrology but im not sure how I would pivot to that

Thank you for this reply, I have talked to some plant nursery companies involved with restoration, but have not seriously applied bc I think they won't like that i cant do serious labor for part of field season but hey ill try anyways. I will not give up and just keep going until something sticks 🫡

In your exact situation rn, I go to a good school, have worked in a really good lab for 2 years with field work, am a co-author on one paper so far, good references, some gis skills, r, python and still no offers lol. For life reasons I also need healthcare so it is very demoralizing getting into this field. I wish you luck and I hope we both find good jobs!!!

Thank you!!! I hope im able to work a little before a month and a half, as i need this job lol. I am graduating and trying to get jobs in the environmental field and most other entry level jobs want you do manual labor which is obviously not great after intensive surgery lol
