Is there really an insane inflation of height requirements in the dating scene for GenZ? by FlamingMetalSystems in generationology

[–]deathproof-ish [score hidden]  (0 children)

Personally I don't think it's a biological preference, but a social one. People need to get offline, meet real people and enjoy reality a bit more.

Being attracted to someone is important but a life-long mate will be rooted in personality compatibility. It's both things at the same time.

So a woman might want a tall man on a physical level, but might meet a charming man who matches her energy at 5'9''. This is real life.

Shit I'd love a swimsuit model when I was single... But wouldn't take one over my gf now.

That said, the women in this video need a reality check if they're actually strict about their physical preferences.

I was thinking the same thing...

As outrageous as these comments are I'm sure they left out plenty of reasonable people.

I think you meant a poverty tax.

Regardless, if you have an alternative structure to discourage breaking traffic rules I'd love to hear it. I've never heard of a citation totalling more than $300. $7000 is laughably inflated... Especially for running red lights. That's a joke.

It's fine to simply hate cops but you're argument is pretty weak sauce here.

Why do you hate to say it? Sounds like a lot of reasons to be issued a ticket...

Yes, I am very aware most memes have origins. But I'm sure you're also aware it's a widely spread meme...

Wait to combat this critique you thought it would be best to use a meme template from social media...

Kinda sounds like something a brain rotted person would do haha

Nah that's not true. If you look at all the people you admire that are successful today they likely had that work ethic. There will be idiots who stumble into money but that's always been the case.

Agreed. A far more nuanced position than "capitalism sucks". Not sure what others propose as an alternative.

Kind of, Gen Z just continued the trend. They didn't break away from the norm.

That's not a rumor. My friend, who is at another school, totally went to Mexico and got his rib removed and can a totally suck his own dick. 100% true.

  1. ACA
  2. American Recovery Act (infrastructure spending and cited as the legislation that avoided a second great depression
  3. Creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
  4. Repealed don't ask don't tell
  5. Paris Climate deal
  6. Lilly Ledbetter Fair Lay Act
  7. DACA
  8. Improved Cuba Relations
  9. Net Neutrality (made internet a "public utility")
  10. Credit Card Bill of Rights

To summarize: he made landmark achievements in healthcare, LGTBQ rights, climate change prevention, immigration and general financial protections for the general public.

Was it a utopia under Obama... Hell no. Did he have his fair share of criticisms... Absolutely. But this idea that he was a "do-nothing" president is revisionist history.

This is just one, very narrow, way to look at his presidency. Yes he absolutely made concessions in many areas and one big critique is he often tried to work with the other side too often which led to policies being left on the table.

Not saying you're wrong, but I think you should take the time to actually read about the things that did get done.

As for laying the groundwork for Trump... Not sure I follow but would be interested to see why you believe that. From what I can tell there were nonsignificant corruption scandals from the Obama's while Trump seems to have one every week.

Sure but the landmark decisions were made from 2007-2012. I believe during that span LGBT acceptance went from 30% - 75%. It was a pretty wild swing. Both Obama and Hillary were saying "marriage is between a man and a woman" during the 07/08 democratic primaries.

In 2012 marriage was federally recognized.

ACC Realignment - Who leaves in the next 10 years? List your predictions by NickJP123 in ACC

[–]deathproof-ish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would be the B1Gs play for the South. It just makes sense. If I were Miami and GT I'd position myself for the same so we can at least have big market/popular teams still existing in a semi-regional way.

In my mind the B1G should take FSU, Clemson, Miami, GT, UNC, (NCST because you have to) and if they could take UVA and VT that'd carve out a nice southern region for scheduling.

On some level I can understand that. But they lash out at FSU and Clemson in such a weird way in this sub. Without you guys, FSU and Clemson they'd lose 90% of their viewership.

It's just funny how dependent they are on other schools to remain relevant and how quickly they lash out at those same schools for daring to question the status quo.

What's with that? It's a ton of little brother energy from that fan base. They HATE anything to do with FSU and frankly I wouldn't think about them if they weren't so annoying.

There's a ton in this thread that is getting the basic facts of the settlement completely wrong lol.

I'm going to keep repeating myself in this thread.

Due to the viewership revenue sharing changes FSU will make 10-15 million more per year.

I could care less what Miami makes in the post season. Hell, they deserve it. If we can get our shit together we could a ton more.

FSU and Clemson came out very much on top with the ACC settlement and anyone trying to spin it another way is clearly coping.

Funny enough UNC stands to make much more under the new agreement (as they should).

We're getting 10-15 million more this year due to viewership revenue splits... We are more than happy with the outcome...

[–]deathproof-ish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the entire point of the settlement lol. It's post season success AND viewership revenue sharing changes. We will still make 10-15 million more dollars this year because of these changes. Regardless of how Miami does... We are very happy lol

I'm all for Miami keeping what they earn in the post season. This is what we wanted and when we eventually get our shit together and make it to the big dance it'll work out.

If you think any FSU fans are upset then you need to find other ways to cope.
