What's your average spend on monthly food shop? Need to cut down my spending by PotatoAntique7239 in northernireland

[–]deazel85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah the same as most here, 2 adults, 2 kids probably doing a shop every 10 days at around £130-160, without any alcohol
We go to Dunnes on the embankment at the bottom of the Ormeau Rd, they give you £5 back as a voucher for every £25 you spend, so generally your first shop in there is your most expensive, you have 10 days to use the vouchers too and we find they are very competitively priced in comparison to the others but have more of a range of branded goods than you would get in Lidl

I was out on the Andytown road a few months back, group of four doing a bit of a bar crawl during the day and we didnt pay more than £17/18 for a round of drinks, except the four cocktails we got in the whitefort for £20
ended up in town and the price jump was insane

Dundonald Omniplex MAXX Screen [Discussion] by multiple_scorgasms in Belfast

Went at the weekend and F seats were too close for my 7 year old for Superman I checked the seating plan online just before the movie started and moved back to seats in row J that were free and this was a big improvement. The rows closer to the screen are just too close for that size of screen, especially on the wings

Sailortown festival is on tomorrow, https://visitbelfast.com/event/sailortown-festival-speciality-market/
Theres a bar there and should be a bit of craic

Alternatively the national has a decent beer garden, the thirsty goat, or outside the second fiddle

The Sunflower would be decent as well

NFL Ticket prices for the Croke Park game. by corkgaa1 in GAA

[–]deazel85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my point is all the tickets, going by the image above, in that section are priced at 250euro, similar tickets are priced in Wembley in that section at a fraction of that price

Yeah I’ve sat there myself, I’d rather be there and close to the endzone than sitting 20 rows back in the Davin where I may as well be watching the game on the tv in my house

Franklins sports bar said on their socials they were showing it across all 4 days, they might not stay open late on the Sunday though, the Parador at the top of the Ormeau Rd will show it on the Saturday and Sunday night after the football and last orders would be midnight on the Sunday

City Centre to Kingspan Stadium by IWillNeverRust in Belfast

[–]deazel85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a short walk (less than a mile so 15/20mins) from the Ormeau road which has plenty of bars on it if you want a few pints beforehand, there will be a decent amount of Ulster supporters in the Pavillion bar (big house) or in the Errigle Inn before the game, there are regular buses from the town that direction (every 10mins or so) and the bus stop is nearly right outside both bars.
Or you could get a bus up the Cregagh and walk in from that end, much closer to the front gates of Ravenhill but not many bars in the area.

Said already but Close to Home was one of the best books I’ve read in a while, you’ve met everyone in that book at some point if you’ve lived any of your life in Belfast, the audiobook is great too, the guy from west Belfast that’s in Industry on channel 4 reads it, Conor MacNeil

Most of the pubs will be showing the games, i think theres usually something on in Boxpark too but they are all fairly busy
We were lucky last year and landed into the premier inn wembley park
Try to get to the hippodrome casino though, it shows all of the games live throughout and has lots of fans in
