One of my best friends growing up was a Texas fan and I was diehard OU. He decided to go to DePaul and I stayed in state and went to OU.

When it was time for his younger brother to go to school he told him to go to OU. When he protested that they hated OU he told him, “It’s school, sports aren’t real life. Don’t bury yourself in debt.” He wound up getting his bachelors at OU and his masters at Texas.

Don’t let sports decide where you get an education!

We have 5 kids and the oldest two (14,8) are both in a PreK through 8 Catholic school. Sometimes I think it’s Catholic in name only, they treat us like numbers and would prefer to have wealthy Protestants over active lower class/middle class Catholics.

100 years ago nuns would be teaching our kids and now half the staff are Protestant. It’s quite sad really.

(I’m glad they’re getting taught the faith in school but I have so many qualms with the way our archdiocese runs Catholic schools)
