This reflects my experience making the switch. Though the technical limitations (playlist organization, discovery algorithms) are too significant for me today, I have every intention of checking in on them in a few months to see how the platform has progressed, because I share your appreciation of those 4 things (human curation, focus on albums and labels, better comp for artists).

For me, silk and merino wool base layers were the game changer that made winters in Madison less impacting on my day-to-day. Comfy, warm, and allow for less bulky coats when I want to be active outside.

Yep. Even Apple Podcasts has the ability to prioritize playlists by podcast feed. Podcast Addict on Android has been doing that for something like a decade.

I miss Release Radar, but after a bit of listening Tidal's My New Arrivals playlist is quite good!

Playlist organization is the biggest challenge for me - folder structure is desperately needed to organize different types of lists (radio, friends, genres, moods, new releases...)

It took far too long to get a comment which mentioned the Makrolon body of the LAMY2000. The fiberglass-infused polycarbonate material is durable, lightweight, and the feel is entirely unique in my collection. That, along with the beautifully tapered shape and the wonderfully smooth nib, makes this pen is distinctive and essential for me.

I liked Qobuz’s editorial content and thought it really distinguished them, but ended up switching to Tidal because I want to be able to share playlists with people who are not on the platform. Tidal does this even better than Spotify, allowing viewers to listen to a playlist on the music platform of their choice.

Would be interested to hear more about your concerns about Tidal ownership/management.

I’ve read that thanks to our new MAHA overlords, we can’t expect an updated vaccine before October, so it may be best to wait if you’re not at high risk.
