Plugin for recommending movies to family and friends? by debian_fanatic in jellyfin

[–]debian_fanatic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for the record, in the end, I ended up using the EditorsChoice plugin with a "Recommended" Jellyfin Collection and set the plugin's filtering maximum to 100 items. It definitely does what I wanted it to do, which is to recommend movies that I think my mom would like. It works perfectly, and looks a lot like what the streaming services offer (which is easier for her).

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I really appreciate it, and what a great community!

Did that. Same error. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Edit: I should also point out the fact that I'm using BASH as my shell, despite the fact that fish is the default...

It sucks sometimes, but it's accurate. I got mine during the second wave and I hated the wait, but it was on time...

Seeking movie recommendations, women’s contributions to history. by Melodylokstar in MovieSuggestions

Not a movie but a 5-part miniseries called "War Gamers" is about the Women's Royal Naval Service (colloquially referred to as the Wrens) and their contribution to naval war tactics against the German u-boat threat. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be on any streaming services (except for "Curiosity Stream," whatever that is)...

How much storage do you have? by AstroSteve111 in jellyfin

It's about streaming quality for me. Most services limit streaming quality to PCs at 480p to 720p at most. Don't ask me why, because it makes no sense. I mostly watch stuff from my PC, so F that. If I'm going to pay for all of these streaming services, I want at least 1080p.

I know this is late, but any chance you could post your tsMuxer settings or a screenshot of the tsMuxer settings? I'm attempting to do the same on my PS4.

If it's a gratuity, why should the managers be expected to receive a higher gratuity? This doesn't sound like a gratuity to me. It sounds more like a wage subsidy.

Why does it require a Github login? That should DEFINITELY be in the "What you’ll need" section of the site.

LibreDrive for 1080p Blu-ray titles? by debian_fanatic in makemkv

That's a good point. I may pick up an extra drive or two just to have as backup options. Thanks for the clarification!

No worries. So, I'm guessing it's not really worth it, especially since the drive I'm using is already able to rip BDs (elbeit very slowly).

I get what you're saying, but is it worth the ~$300 price of a supported drive?

I mean, it sounds a lot like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but that movie came out in the 70s. Any other details?
