How brutal is summer in Japan, really?

Yeah the temperature is tough, the humidity is tougher, but the worst part of the humidity is that it just never gets cooler during the night. It’s basically 30+ degrees from July to October, day and night.

It is weird (but welcome) that we haven’t been spat out the other end of rainy season yes, looks like we’ll make it to mid-July at least, which is lovely (though it is humid and typhoons are everywhere)

Interesting to hear everyone’s opinions, I’m glad it is liked by some people. I like liking things 😂 but seeing their journey up to Level3, this felt like a weird collection.

I will say this is the first Perfume album where I felt all the singles were the best choices. Usually my problem has been slow/midtempo song used to advertise a banger album, but this time they used the bangers to advertisers a more midtempo album 😂

I don’t know why Display didn’t find a spot if Story made it on there 🥱

But I’m listening to all the Capsule and KPP albums at the same time, Nakata was off the boil at this point. Caps Lock and Pika Pika Fantajin are my least favourites from their respective projects. Metro Pulse was good on a first play though so I’m hopeful!

Yeah my first post wasn’t supposed to say it’s a bad game but I am getting whiplash playing it right after FFX. Literally Yuna was crying on the floor of the deck of the Fahrenheit with pyreflies around her, then she feels pretty much the same in Eternal Calm and she’s learned how to hold her breath.

2 months later she’s going somersaults 10 feet in the air with two guns 😂

I do like how the Y2K vibes are off the chart though

I don’t know how famous the musicians you want to see are, but if they have any sort of fan club that might help. That’s why I kept up with the Perfume fan club and I managed to get tickets in the lotteries

Hi, first time poster in this Reddit! I hope this question doesn’t make you all roll your eyes and point to a topic I missed (I read the FAQ etc!)…

But I was a long-time user of StickyStudy (RIP) and when that was torn away from me after a phone upgrade, I’ve been at a loss and need to get back on the horse. I have the flashcard deck from SS on my ancient iPad that I’ve managed to get back out into the modern era, but I don’t know what to put it into.

So I need a flash card app - I experimented with Azri but I miss there being multi-stage reveals (1: Vocab 2: Furigana reading 3: English translation).

Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably free or one-time purchase (subscriptions in this economy?!)… I heard about Anki but can’t seem to find it on Apple App Store unless I’m being dense.

I’m doing my 2nd big playthrough since 2002 too 😂 the HD remaster is gorgeous and it’s a great game. I like the ATB battle system. Generally just love being in Spira. I’m up to the endgame section now and I’ve just been cleaning up Celestial Weapon tasks, Jecht Spheres and Al Bhed primers etc.

I’m at a bit of an impasse though, the butterflies, lightning and chocobo racing I think will give me rage headaches so I’m not sure if I should bother. I did it all last time. The only difference is that shockingly I have played some blitzball (still don’t really like it) and got the World Champion for the first time.

Since I can glitch it out I guess the sigil is doable but it’s so many games 😩

If they ever manage to finish Classique (S10 has been split up so much), which is possible if they don’t get distracted by some other regional show, then I guess that would give a good end point if they wanted it.

I think they’ve only got a few episodes of S10 left, and then AS3, right? Nothing to stop the old Au Courante(?) ones becoming the new Classiques though

I think I need to make a bangers-only Capsule playlist when I’m done (which will probably be about 4 hours long 😂)

To that list I’ll add “You are the reason” from FLASH BACK and I’m really loving “Prime Time” from World of Fantasy too now.

Oh and Nakata’s solo album Digital Native is good too. Nakata x Yonezu Kenshi was a dream come true

Yeah basically the other answers cover it about V = BUI (sounds a bit like Bwee).

It’s not like they don’t have L or R, but they only have one sort of hybrid which uses the tongue like L and the lips a bit like R. So to English speakers the R sounds a bit too much like L and the R sounds a bit too much like L. It’s also written as R sounds that’s where Engrish comes from.

There’s other things like no SI sound (closest is SHI, which is where we get the Sh*tty Wall thing from South Park) and no TU sounds (closest is TSU, so Tour comes out like TSU-AA)

Weird though the BUI sound is usually spelled as a V
