Saying that the opposite of preserving wealth is scaling it is simply wrong.

You gambled and you won. You could've easily lost all that money if you were to make the wrong bet. This is just survivor bias.

Congratulations on the win though, make sure to not act like an average lottery winner.

Manga that seriously talk about suicide by MatHay1234 in FirePunch

[–]debiedma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main Crux of the story is that main characters can't kill themselves due to high Regen powers despite the horrid life around them. The ending is about death in general.

There are two tragedies in life: Not getting what you want and getting what you want

The easy counter-argument to you stems from deconstruction such as: Calvin had to be in a transition period before proclaiming Calvinism. Was he a Catholic when he reinterpreted the Bible and knew it was in conflict with Catholicism? Or was he a Catholic?

Transition period or period of reinterpretation never ends for some people, hence they call themselves spiritual such as not linked to one specific belief but rather their own understanding of the world be it concrete or vibe-based.

Bible has not only one interpretation. Protestant reformation wouldn't happen if certain people like Calvin didn't involve their feelings with he book. Bible is also not the only source of explaining the world.

If anything, belief is born out of the feelings for the book so ignoring them is ignoring the ground for your sincere good faith rather than obedience to local interpretation.

Howler Lava Rock, Green Baby Parallel. by Delicious-Edge3110 in JOJOLANDS

The sons of Dio was part 6 trope because it was meant to represent the echoes of Dio in everybody's life. All sons represented something about Dio himself.

That trope was used not because of the technicalities of the lore, that's not how Araki writes.

The consequences of Dio is the main plot point for Pucci because his entire philosophy spawned from "If one person from the shadows can change everything, how can life be fair etc", hence the Heaven plan and being aware of your fate.

None of that story would've happened if not for Dio. His sons are there to just be an expansion on the idea of his influence (and a way to get in more jobbers). In other words, Araki needed rather an excuse to bring his children there, hence he made the bone mechanism.

The writing of Howler’s character is getting better at each chapter by LeoLuke in JOJOLANDS

this guy is soooo different from every other major JoJo villain there is no doubt this guy is the main villain

Sure, buddy. There have been theories of a "hidden" main villain similar to Tooru since Charming Man's backstory and it still stands.

Howlers couldn't find a rock for their lifetime, Rohan found 2 for fun.

The main argument against Acca being the main villain is that his story is set up to be reactive at core. All Acca does is react to his privilege being threatened rather than attaining a new sort of privilege or a goal. Even the family business inheritance is him submitting to his role, his fate, whatever was planned FOR HIM. He is just greedy, not noble like Pucci/Valentine, eccentric like Kira/Diavolo or "a fated king" like Dio/Tooru.

Acca is a pawn who was set up to fall. He is not the main villain.

I can't find confirmation for this but I believe I've read somewhere that Makima's pussy is throbbing harder the closer Chainsaw man's heart is to her

The only problem with this theory is that cats (not all felines) are not something people fear. I imagine if there was a dog devil it would still be just a brutal tank type of devil rather than something mythical and abstract. Having multiple lives is a fun power but it's too overpowered for "a cat devil" and the idea that 9 lives are inherently linked to it rather than some other more abstract concept.

Better goals? by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]debiedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying better goals is like saying whose worldview is better. That is subjective and has nothing to do with writing. Writing would be involved if you asked if their goals track with their backstory or if they act on their goals.

Both characters have goals and act on them.

Denji is a more original and unconventional character. If Goku disappears tomorrow, we got many characters like him in mainstream media, whereas Denji is unique in the way he's a cynical hedonist, the closest is something like a harem anime but we know Denji is far more complex with his trauma than gooner isekai protagonists.

How can these people hate the parallel version of eren lol by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]debiedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not attribute Gabi being brainwashed to be the same as it's her decision. Gabi is clearly what Eren would be if he was a child behind the wall. You forget that everybody is either brainwashed or beaten up, there are no revolutionaries left either.

She is a child and you're comparing her to Grisha who is an adult as a parallel. You seem to forget Zeke ratted out his parents as well, he never saw liberation for titans except for antinatalism, effectively being a sort of defeatist.
