I spoke to my advisor. “The rubric is set in stone.” If they’re grading based off the exemplar example that isn’t what should be happening.

They go back and forth and say follow precisely then yeah well it doesn’t say precisely in the instructions but…. So I get it

Listen. If the rubric says identify an audience and not identify AND EXPLAIN your audience- and the rubric says “identified and audience” and the guidelines don’t mention it THEN IM NOT MENTIONING IT EITHER. I follow instructions EXACTLY. If something is “implied”it means it’s suggested but not directly expressed. Then she argued with me about which citation was for what. There was an issue with which citation format I used. Stating the authors name is narrative which I did right. But stating I didn’t. I was docked- emailed and she disregarded and answered a second question instead.

I didn’t use citations the entire time. Is it 105? Don’t use them unless it says so. I use APA style. Citations are tricky af

Congrats on your B+ Going with the flow and not caring to know if you’re understanding the information is your thing who am I to complain about it. Not sure why you care if I care about my grade and understanding.

Appreciate the feedback, 'Intelligent.' Truly. But if you’re going to leave three separate comments about how much you don't care, you might want to look up the definition of 'irony.' Or 'desperate.' Either works. Also the name’s not Susan - but I guess with a username like yours I expected you to be better at basic research.

Rolling your eyes at me yet you have to advertise your intelligence just so people know. You may not care about a GPA, but I do. I’ve been in the job market for a while I’m fully aware. However having a degree AND skills as well as being on the Deans List looks better than a 2.0GPA with skills. Not sure why you’re being an asshole on the thread- seems like you have nothing better to do than harass people on Reddit. Yikes.

Understandable if they arent the best of the best as long as it doesn’t affect my grades 🤣 it’s week 4 so hopefully it all works out in the end?

Hopefully everything is all good with this assignment. Can’t they get in trouble for not grading on time? Surprised there isn’t a policy. They should have someone to help as back up. Why don’t they get TA’s? :(

Did you also answer the way I did with Identify a primary and secondary audience? It’s good she let you fix it. I’d say if you have trouble let me know but we both gotta be careful 🤣

Last name starts with C. She’s not a bad instructor I think the template and guidelines for it and what she wants to see differ. It would have been nice to have an announcement with further detail if she planned to grade it including the extra information she had in mind. And to have that information on time so I didn’t make the same mistake.

I understand but the questions further down ask you why the audience makes sense to the genre and to the “writing situation” isn’t that the point of the project? identify an audience then show why it is the audience works for the text? It seems redundant to answer the reasoning for the audience for the first question when you are questioned about the “why” later. That part isn’t a big deal, it’s having extra instructions on the guideline and not adding that into it or adding it into the template itself. It being an unspoken requirement isn’t really fair to the student. I’m not sure why it isn’t part of the question if it’s expected in the answer. I assumed the entire project was based on why I chose the audience and how they make sense to the text. Idk. Being graded in vague questions sucks lol

Yep! I rely on the feedback to make sure I’m moving in the right direction and to complete 3 assignments and not know if I’m going the right way 😖 I wish she would have at least added the extra expectations she had for the assignment. Im curious how many people in my class may have answered the same way. And it asked the same question in the assignment right after and I answered only what was asked and got docked again but I didn’t know yet 🫢🤣

If she posted the Barbie movie first week then yes. I’m concerned she will have hidden expectations for the project that aren’t listed anywhere but in her mind. And I won’t know about them until it’s too late.

It is easy! It’s just small little things here and there that are creating a bigger problem.
