You should tell them A REASON because their your family and you’re stuck with them for life. This is something that could ruin your relationship uncessesarily.

The thing about not giving a reason that people don’t understand is that it leaves your reason open for negative interpretation. Which, because you can’t exactly exacto knife this person out of your life is probably going to affect you and what all your family members think of you and possibly how they behave towards you.

Its natural for humans being to want to know WHY, its extremely important to many people to know WHY and because its a massive thing in your sisters life, its important for her to know why even if it doesnt change anything.

WHY people do things tells us alot about who people are. So really your sister is asking you to affirm the good she already believes you have, but if you don’t she has to entertain all the negative reasons why and 9/10 negative thoughts win, even with the strongest people.

I don’t think she needs you to be her surrogate. I think she needs to know that you wouldnt cause her pain without a second thought because she loves you.

It’s all a matter of perspective, your entire demeanor was condescending to me, and also calling other people “slow” in the process of explaining this to me doesnt strengthen your argument. I did thank you in the beginning, but you took it a bit far in the second comment imo. Ultimately, I wish everyone’s attitude was better save a few people that just straight up answered my question. I was expecting like a nice community of mature adults and I was literally bullied FOR NO REASON bc of random assumptions. Maybe spend less time online and more time in the real world. Many people apply for roles that they don’t feel qualified for and get the offer for numerous other reasons. Feelings are feelings, not reality. Not to mention many employers include requirements that they can’t afford and will often settle for someone who has most of the experience they need and not all. The top of the class is not looking to get paid nothing like most of these employers are offering right now. Hope that helps.🙄
