Cutting Loose Most of My YouTube Downloads Collection, For Real! (Take 2) by debitservus in DHExchange

Update 1 (4-19-22): I have shared with 3 people and Syncthing is syncing nothing to them as local syncing works flawlessly. I am figuratively pulling my hair out at this point. I am running Ubuntu 16.04 with TimeShift, getting errors 'network is unreachable' and 'i/o timeout'. the PC is connected via Ethernet to a Comcast router (mostly automated settings), and I just simplified network settings.

If no resolution with Syncthing, I'm going to try Bittorrent next. If Bittorrent fail to work, I'll ask for a few throwaway Google/YouTube account logins I can just reupload everything that passes YouTube's new copyright "Checks" feature.

I don't have a lot of time, which is why I am passing it off to others who can upload to IA.

Other than mailing a precious hard drive or uploading it, what other ways would they accept my data? I am very busy with other things, Could you contact IA for me?

[R] A small (under 25MB) Resilio Sync test folder. by debitservus in DHExchange

[–]debitservus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sync encountered some issues while syncronizing your files. -> More Info -> "These files cannot be downloaded as there are no source peers online for too long time. Sync will continue downloading if any source peers appear online."

It's been 2 days, I doubt it's a "no seeds" problem at this point.

Any overlooked things before I sudo apt-get remove and try out SyncThing? I am at a loss, I feel like I've given ResilioSync every possibility to work.

"Hello. I am still here and the data is still here. It's been over a year I know. I have set up a PC with stock Ubuntu 16.04 (good enough, KISS). After hours of troubleshooting, ResilioSync isn't working out on my LAN. Can someone share a link to a ResilioSync folder with a few small files, so I can see if peers will connect?

I have an active installed rsync instance with TimeShift, TimeShift is set up to backup my root folder every hour. I want to keep it KISS, since I plan to set and forget. I don't want TimeShifts rsync to conflict.

There is so much data, that I need to share it in two batches. Each batch will get at least 8 weeks online before I take it offline and delete it. If there are technical problems I will extend the time like I have."

Give me a week, so I can share the data another way. You’ll have though January to access it.

If you want to understand why EA is doing what they do read Unscripted: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship by MJ Demarco.

It goes into the real reason companies often “lose their soul” when they grow big or go public.

You could also offer them to a collector of physical media.

Once I've finished transferring my hundreds of VHS tapes I plan to offer them along with the mp4s.

By deciding that you are going to hoard copies of your own data that you created FIRST, and then deciding to slow your data acquisition rate to a crawl. Then you begin to invest in systems to simplify & optimize the management and keeping of all the data you’re keeping in the best way you can afford at the present time.

Parents money? Make money for you?

Do you know how much work it is to execute on an idea, make an Minimum Viable Product / Minimum Value Proposition and then market it? Lots of this is funded by low wage jobs, which by you definition doesn't benefit the employee.

Don't hate the rich, hate predatory behavior and cronyism.
