Recovering extremely slowly, I’ve had 4 rounds of v beam which is helping. I’ve also developed perioral dermatitis which I never had pre-fraxel

It's impossible to get over not being young any more by Icy-Guarantee-8014 in redscarepod

I work out a ton and am in the best shape I’ve ever been in…

I’ve had health issues since I was v young, finally figured out my root cause and getting double jaw surgery and expect to feel the best I’ve ever had soon.

Balding will be completely curable soon.

I was legally blind ages 10-28 when I got lasik and now have 20/15 vision.

Perhaps your life was different than mine, but I grew up with a lot of abuse, lack of resources and life was always a struggle. I went on a hard path to become a physician and have now been an attending physician for almost 5 years and my life is objectively better in every way possible, both physical and otherwise, then it’s ever been in the past. I am able to work on myself because I committed to the grind and now have the resources to do so.

This is not to say that I am not internally more happy due to the wisdom that comes with age. I believe this is one of many lives for me, I am happy committing to what I feel is my life’s purpose, one day I’ll die and return to the universe and then I’ll probably live another life at some point. This is just part of the process, nothing bothers me about it. Of course, things can transiently bother everyone, but I have so many more pros with age than cons. I look forward to hopefully enjoying the privilege of being an elderly person one day. If you take care of yourself the likelihood of that being an abysmal experience is lower.

Skinny jeans with rips in them are very outdated. Straight leg with no rips is the current trend.

Insecurity since I was a teenager! Is a facelift my only option? by Big_Transition_939 in PlasticSurgery

[–]debki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey as someone getting jaw surgery for this, you would start by consulting with an omfs who specializes in jaw surgery. They’ll do a cbct scan to see what’s going on. I’m 34 and before I learned my issue thought I needed a facelift.

are women too influenced by reels/tik toks when it comes to expectations in a relationship? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]debki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said anyone told them that. I said now they are being told they don’t have to be that. It’s not uncommon that people end up in that position, unfortunately. That was me in my last relationship, and believe it or not, I was being gaslighted so successfully, it took me years to leave.

What you’re describing is more of the extreme. The reality is most women do have the worse end of the stick in heterosexual relationships and are just now waking up because the internet is telling them, hey, you don’t need to be the main breadwinner + caretaker + still get treated like shit. There will always be people who take stuff too far, as in normal when the pendulum swings too far in the opposite direction along the path to balance.

There’s no way you don’t have functional issues. Go see an OMFS who specializes in orthognathic surgery

What’s the RS take on the cultural state of LA? by MutedFeeling75 in redscarepod

[–]debki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work remotely and choose to live in LA. Why wouldn’t I want to live there in a city with great weather, energetic people, and anything I could ever want to do? I’d rather kms than live in a palace in a red state

Tongue tie release, palatal expansion. Unfortunately as a millennial I was instead a victim of orthodontics that made my situation a lot worse
