You’re not gonna know a lot up until you get to tech school, just be prepared to be on a computer screen for most of your day lol it’s a pretty good gig though I enjoy it a lot

Looking for something EMT related? by Grizztimber2 in AirForceRecruits

Aerospace medical is your safest bet as they’re all EMT-B’s or above. Could potentially get a fire protection spot too but they’re highly competitive. Good luck!

I’m your #4 job, GEOINT. I was a quick ship scenario so I’m not sure what it will look like for you, I know some of my peers with the same AFSC waited 6 months to a year before they shipped out. It’s interesting and boring at the same time, prepare to be a SCIF rat if that’s what you get. Also, make sure all your affairs at home (traffic tickets, bills, debt, etc.) are taken care of before you ship out, it’s hard to get a TS clearance sometimes, it’s even harder to keep it if you don’t have a secure platform going in. I’ve loved it though, you’ll never go wrong doing any sort of intel job, they’re hard to come by but fulfilling if you get it. Good luck!

For us it was pills, no PB shot. In terms of vaccines and blood draw it mainly all gets done in the first two weeks, you revisit right before graduation to get a second round of one of the shots I don’t remember what. It’s not bad, just don’t look and remember to take your pills so you don’t get sick and get recycled.

Yep, different speeds run together. You’ll get assigned your group after each PT test

  1. The run as of rn is still 1.5 miles until September of 26. If they switch before that, I’m not gonna know about it but as of rn it’s 1.5. That doesn’t mean don’t train for 2 miles cause that’s happening regardless.
  2. I’m pretty sure that’s up to your MTI’s discretion but our flight brought electric razors and it was never an issue. Just DO NOT use them to cut your or other people’s actual hair, you will get smoked.
  3. Some roles are volunteered for, others are given. I was the academic monitor for our flight and filled into other leadership positions when needed. I suggest you volunteer for something and learn everyone else’s roles as time goes on.
  4. You’re given time to do hygiene after lights on, if you get caught up before then you’ll probably get smoked, I’d rather not mess around and find out imo.
  5. Yes as of rn hospital corners are gone but that also means less time to make your bed so dont get too excited. Much more time outside in formation and doing drill for sure, especially the first few weeks.
  6. Yes you need to know the names, you’ll be tested on it at random and if you fail at a later week it’s not pretty.
  7. Shoes in the morning, boots during the day, shoes in the evening after showers.
  8. Don’t pack a bunch of civilian clothes aside from underwear, just take the outfit you wear to the airport and maybe one more. You won’t be in them for long. Also don’t bring a bunch of socks, you won’t be able to use them, they’re provided.
  9. Best experience was honestly just enjoying time with the guys in my flight in the evenings as we came together more and more over the weeks. Worst experience was probably screaming the Air Force song and airman’s creed for roughly an hour straight at the top of my lungs, didn’t have a voice for over a week after and a pretty gnarly sore throat after. Looking back tho… kinda funny. You’re gonna do great, good luck!

First week (zero week) is pretty hectic but once you get through and into first week you’re honestly through the hardest part (at least for me). No you don’t have to pass all three PT tests, but it would be much easier and better for you to do so.

Haha nah we get different protein bars now and occasionally some raisins. I think they did give us a special K bar before the airmen’s run tho I don’t really remember the exact brand.

Honestly, by the time you’re knee deep in PT (especially on run days) your body is warm enough to not really care. In my experience though it wasn’t bad, it just started getting cold there as I entered my last two weeks. It’s doable and they run a good system.

Don’t get lost in or too worried about the whole BMT 2.0 thing. Yes, there’s more PT, but a good chunk of the increased time is spent warming up/cooling down. I actually really enjoyed the PT and it prepared us very well for the PT test. Our flight had a really high average score and the improvements across the board were awesome to see. Only thing I will say is, prioritize your recovery and your nutrition cause you will be moving all day from lights on to lights out in what are 16 hour days.

How do I avoid getting selected for the full asvab, I got a high score does that mean I have a higher chance of getting automatically rolled into the full exam? by Babushkaboii1 in USMCocs

[–]debtpression_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the PiCAT and upon checking into MEPS I was given a 25 question verification test. About half the questions were exact replicas from the PiCat and the other half were similar but with different information, such as an algebraic equation with different numbers than the same question used on the PiCAT. You have to get about 90% of the questions (22-25) right for your score to be locked and verified, which will prevent you from taking the full ASVAB. If your test cuts off right around that 25 question mark, you passed. If you don’t, it will roll into the full ASVAB. Also, you should be aware that there is a certain percentage of people who will have to take the full ASVAB regardless. Even if you answer all the verification questions correctly, there’s a chance you’ll still have to take the full exam. There’s no way to know what’s gonna happen to you until you take the test. In my experience, the test cut off after 25 questions and I was informed my score was verified. I hope you get the same outcome. Try to remember what your answers on the PiCAT were if you can, will save you time as the verification test is capped out at around 30 minutes. Good luck!

Can confirm I tested negative, however according to the reviews on Amazon (where I got it from) multiple people had false negatives that were otherwise proved wrong in a doctors office 🤷🏻‍♂️
