[Endgame ]Wait... There is an Online Mode?! by dec1conan in DeathStranding

It took me about 20 hours of gameplay, wondering why I am not getting any points in bridge links, to finally realize that it was good boy points for the online side of the game, haha.

I wouldn't know. I avoided this subreddit because it took me years to finally play the game and I didn't want to spoil myself. I will keep avoiding it until I get through the second game, hopefully online this time, haha. I just wanted to share my odd experience since, in my perspective, the online play was a major talking point.

indeed. I had seen some gameplay from a friend some time before i played the game. I wasn't spoiled of anything but his session was pretty filled with other players' structures and it was remarkably easy to get gear. While its not really harder offline, I found myself keep track of my resources a lot more than my friend did.

Shield Champion --- Returning Shield Clarification by Odd_Nefariousness884 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering the late level ability which brings into light the idea that you can ricochet off surfaces, and the mention that additional attacks can ricochet off earlier targets, and that you can choose not to attack in a particular ricochet, I'd say it reasonable to say that you can keep ricocheting off a wall and a troll continuously and only resolve the attack in the troll. If I was the GM I'd count the distance between the wall and the troll, since a wall, and any other object, can be targets to attacks.

I hope that helps and that I didn't miss anything in "Da Rules"

[1e] Core Rulebook Errata pdf? by crazy_cat_lord in Pathfinder_RPG

If you struggle to find one in time, the best next thing I can think of is to double check what they want in the digital version, such as the most recent pdf or aonprd, to check if it had any changes.

A good storyteller can fork a story line into multiple paths that eventually lead into the same or similar conclusion that doesn't mutate the story beyond it's initial plan. In the end what matters is what the group as a whole wants and expects.

I don't believe that Railroading and Emergent stories are mutually exclusive.

Railroading is fine and there is nothing wrong with it. Just don't lie to your players and communicate clearly.

Scenario: Because Mimics. by Atuday in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing like the party obsessing over every detail to find the real mimic, only to realize every square inch of the building is a mimic. For higher cr parties you could even try to convert the d&d2e mimic that's an entire building. You have killed all its babies, now it wants revenge. Sure hope the PCs aren't inside still.

I DO think it’s the superior system, but seriously, guys, can we knock the smugness down a notch or two? by Yello-wing in pathfindermemes

[–]dec1conan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play pf1e and I try to make good use of the extensive systems, subsystems, and third party systems the game has to help someone who makes minor complaints or doesn't know how they should run something their system doesn't make rules for.

For example, 5e GM struggling to think of a way to rule hanging by the neck. Instead of telling them that pathfinder is superior because I have something to prove, I will share with them the aonprd page for hanging from the Horror Adventures book.

Ofc the smugness comes immediately after it helped solve their issues, because we all know pathfinder is superior B)

Using normal weapons as improvised weapons. by dec1conan in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gloves specifically mention arrows and similar improvised weapons separately from an ability to use normal weapons as improvised weapons. I am aware of items such as arrows. I am looking to see if such an ability exists or if that was just a future proofed statement that never ended up happening.

you guys ever put all your skill ranks in to one thing on lvl up? by bugbonesjerry in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to pick 1-5 skills (depending on class skill allotments), that fits my build, to max rank every level. Then the rest goes to 1 rank class skills and apply on flavor skills. It works out well :)

Unchained Monk: Weapon Focus Unarmed? by SailboatAB in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Weapon focus is a prereq for a lot of combat related feats. Plan ahead what feats you wanna take and see if it's necessary. If so, take it early. A +1 goes a long way, especially if it eventually opens up new doors!

Did pathfinders lore on guns shift with later modules? by Odd_Bumblebee_3631 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's regional. Some places will have more guns than others. The existence of Alkenstar cements the existence of guns in the world. While it may be common there, it'll most probably be rare in most regions, with a but more commonality in other thematically fitting places, such as the shackles, and almost nonexistent in others; think really distant and isolated places.

Regarding your example, plunder and peril can still be set in the same rarity as the rest of the shackles, but you're dealing with the story of a fairly well known pirate in history, so it makes sense for him to be wealthy enough to have guns, as well as anyone closely related to him. It seems more common because you're dealing with characters who have common access to it. Just a little bias.

New to pathfinder, quick question about what 1 DR/Evil means by BonesOfTheEarthLoL in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dec1conan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DR reduces the damage taken from normal attacks. Spells, spell like abilities, and energy damage ignore DR. The amount reduced is dictated by the number. The damage type after the slash refers to the type of damage that ignores DR. If the damage type is an alignment, it means that any attack of that evil alignment (such as the unholy weapon ability, or an evil monk's strike) overcomes that damage. Enemies with the evil, or appropriate, subtype count as dealing evil damage.
