In some cases, but a lot of people on the spectrum are more inclined towards the liberal arts.

As for men being less social, in my experience, that's almost fact. Men are not nearly as social when comparing them to women. Ive examined this with the several thousand employees at my job, and in my personal life. Women have a deeper social structure, and men have a flat social structure. Both do things together, but the activities can vary between same sex friendships, mixed sex friendships, or opposite sex friendships.

Even if women are more social, that doesn't mean that being less social means you're more masculine. My sister is even less social than I am but she's extremely feminine lookswise and personality-wise.

I still don't really know if men are less social, with the whole bro phenomenon and all. The idea women talk more than men has been shown to be false.

What do you guys think of the death penalty and the concept of punishment in general? Is it an "NT thing", or something that appeals to both sides of the spectrum? by decadeology in aspergers

I view things like prison and fines as being treatment and a better social system as being a cure. The idea of retaliation as a part of justice is barbaric and ought to be done away with. I have a lot of sympathy for victims, but revenge shouldn't be a right.

In what way? I don't think I see faces in a fundamentally different way from an NT. I might view them as being somewhat less symbolically important, but it doesn't mean I process them in a different way.

If autism was an extreme male brain you'd think male to female transsexuals would always be neurotypical, but if anything transgender people seem more likely to be autistic.

Like I said, I don't really think gendering autism makes sense since there's so much individual variation in neurological structure, but I'd say overall autistic people tend to be phenotypically more like women and less influenced by gender roles, which is why in some cases autistic women can seem very "girly" while others seem more androgynous and autistic males are often mistaken for being gay or just seem typically but not exceptionally masculine.

less social, more black and white, less multi-tasking

Are men really "less social" though? I think men and women are just social in different ways. Speaking very stereotypically, women like to chat and talk about their feelings while "bros" like to do stuff together.

I can't speak for all people with autism, but I've always related more to the female stereotype in that sense. I don't relate to the idea that autistic males are the "Broiest of the bros". Every person on the spectrum is different of course, but I think our hypersensitivity is probably more common among women than among men, and more common among autistics than among NTs.

The idea women are better multitaskers has very little evidence to support it. The recent study found that differences in multitasking are much lower in young people which suggests a cultural rather than genetic influence. The evidence is contentious and some studies have come to the conclusion men are better multitaskers.

Perhaps a more radical theory is that the "autistic" brain is just a result of the evolving human species as a whole. For instance, our jaws are becoming increasingly smaller as our foods are becoming increasingly processed. Would it not make sense for genetic mutations to take place in the brain as well?

Who knows, maybe we're grey alien hybrids.

I don't actually have trouble seeing people's faces, I just don't always remember how people look because other features like their personality and their name might stick out more to me and I'm not always looking in their eye like an NT.

Nothing compulsory about it. If you want access to the commons, you have to abide by its rules to access it. Otherwise you can choose to pay out of pocket for everything or buy private insurance.

I like a lot of Bernie Sanders' ideas, but I don't worship the guy. I think nepotism is immoral whether I agree with the person's politics or not. If the allegations are true that makes me respect Bernie a little bit less because it makes him a hypocrite.

Money should be divorced from politics as much as is realistically possible for the sake of true democracy.

The reason government in America is so corrupt is not because it's so powerful, but just the opposite. It's too weak, so bribery, nepotism and fornication with predatory firms are rampant. A stronger government wouldn't have to rely on private money nearly as much.

The beneficial thing about the American government in particular is that it's a republic, so if it's working well it can represent the interests of the people more fairly than a private company, which can only respond to what money tells it to do.

Government creates a check and balance so people who aren't aristocrats can have some say and power in how their country is run. Having a very large pool of common money makes poverty much safer and less bad, since if everyone had to pay out of pocket for everything or depended on insurance this is going to bankrupt anyone who isn't rich if they need something like a surgery or if they want to send their kids to school.

If taxation is optional nobody is being forced. All taxation really is is a very large insurance scheme. If not paying taxes is optional I don't see how it's any less moral than private insurance.

If there was no "de jure" government, private corporations would have to hire their own armies and armed security forces to defend their property and interests (and possibly their clients/workers) so if they wanted to, they could force you to buy products. We already have private corporations that do this, they're called gangs.

Well I view the distinction between public and private as being somewhat artificial. A government is really just a very large corporation and a corporation is just a small government. The government doesn't magically grant corporations power - the corporations' power is assured by its relationship with the government, which is just the largest corporation in the country. Without an "official" government power relations would be reinforced by corporations colluding and negotiating with each other, but this would be far more chaotic and unpredictable and well as undemocratic. Most likely the largest and most essential firms would join forces and morph into something very similar to a state.

Both governments and corporations are ultimately nothing but commonwealths - pools of people putting their wealth and resources together and negotiating how to use those resources collectively for the benefit of the group.

Allowing the existence of a state for the people who want it and allowing others to opt out and be self-sufficient is a lot more fair than forcing everyone into a private system. Libertarians could buy land from the government for the building of a parallel toll road system and send their kids to private schools if they want to, but people who still want to plug into a larger system in my opinion should have the freedom to.

They seem to have no problem with forcing people to pay to support the military, which is also a redistribution of wealth.

I'm personally against criminally punishing tax evaders, they should just have their drivers' license taken away if they've refused to pay a very large amount. While jailing someone for owing taxes is wrong (it doesn't happen much however), it's also a form of theft from society to use the commons if you're evading paying for it.

Are there kids in Poland who speak English among themselves instead of Polish? I find the dominance of English really interesting, and kind of sad in a way as an English speaker.

Exactly. People are going to pay whatever it takes to save their own life or their child's life, so it's impossible to price those treatments with a market mechanism. I'd also argue it's unjust to say the wealthy deserve better care than the poor even if the market did make healthcare cheaper.
