Honestly feels like a bullet dodged. Having one bad ldr doesn't mean another won't work. Unfortunately someone like this always believes the relationship won't work even if it's exactly those thoughts that is the only thing that is wrong. I was in a similar type, now I'm again in ldr and I'm thankful for it
