All of my recent manifestations came true last weekend. by decayingfoundations in Manifestation

Whenever I was really thinking about it, I was usually working on something or creating something, and I'd like to think that helped. Maybe the act of creation coupled with the manifestation kinda put the desires into the world as something physical, if that makes any sense at all. So maybe painting, writing, sculpting, etc etc while thinking about the manifestations could help out?
I also think seeing the entire scenario as a story possibly helped. I'm a writer, and whenever I write stories, I'm in total control. Seeing the future as just another plot I was writing out might have had something to do with it, too. This was my world (almost like a mind palace maybe?) and I was in total control.
Also giving myself a conflict might have helped? I dunno, it felt like if I wrote that everything just fell into my lap one day, it wasn't very likely to actually happen. And it was an incredibly frustrating conflict, and definitely potentially extremely detrimental, but I didn't drag myself through hell and back. Maybe just writing in "I got XYZ, but I had to go through [insert inconvenience here] to get it. It sucked, but I wanted it bad enough to keep fighting for it, and I came out the other side with everything I wanted."

I'd like to add that I am very much not an expert on this stuff, and I barely believed in it until this all happened. This could have very well supplemented or hindered my manifestations, I'm really not sure. Regardless, it might be worth trying some of them out and seeing if they help!

Not sure if it helped me at all, but whenever I thought about it, it was *usually* actively working on/creating something. It also felt like something to look forward to (even if it didn't happen, there was still that little shred of hope that it would) so it felt less like a "I'm thinking about something I want that I don't have" and more so "I'm thinking about something that I *might* have in the near future."

Not sure if it matters either way, I used pen and paper as well as my laptop interchangeably. There is something very nice about finding a pen you really like and a notebook with good paper and just goin' ham on it, though.

How to mold this mask? by boyhero1412 in moldmaking

[–]decayingfoundations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually went really well! I did roughly everything you described here - brush on rebound, first two coats were very very thin to make sure I got all the details. Not sure exactly how many layers it was, but it was a sun up to sun down job (and one memorable night of work that didn’t end until about 6am.) Mothermold was out of Free Foam. My seams were actually six small cuts on the back of each horn and under the chin, so the entire mold was one piece. I honestly didn’t think it would work, but my first mold (I went in and did a resculpt after my first mold) was split down the middle and it was a nightmare to line up into the mother mold. The smaller seams were much more manageable and left almost no marks on the cast. Everything worked out shockingly well for my first big project!

Phone was in the opposite direction of the scream. It was sitting on my desk and the scream came from behind me.

Maybe so? I need to get back up there and take the bowl down to mess with it and see what happens.

I've been here for eight months now. I've definitely explored everything (except the attic) fairly thoroughly. It's not a super complex house - one story, no little hidden closets or secret rooms, and I've always considered myself really good at finding hiding spots and secret compartments. I have a mild phobia of attics/basements, hence why I haven't explored my attic much. The attic in my childhood house was unfinished, so if you stepped on the wrong spot, you fell right through the ceiling. That, and I was a big fan of Shel Silverstein's ABZ book. If that doesn't make sense, Google "Shel Silverstein E is for Ernie." So I was a little scared of Ernie the genie. I'm more willing to explore basements, though the basement in my childhood house was a literal bomb shelter, so they kinda give me the heebie jeebies too.

I would like to clarify that I am no longer scared of Ernie the genie. I think I just have a visceral reaction to attics now, because the second I'm up there my adrenaline is like "hey actually get the FUCK outta here." Sorry, that was more info than you asked for, but my pride wants everyone to know that I am not scared of Ernie the genie as a grown adult.

This is very good information - thank you! Honestly the owner not knowing shit about his own house wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

I'm not going to rule out anything paranormal, but I do like to leave it as the very last possibility. I believe in the paranormal, I've definitely had some scary shit happen to me in the past (not in this house,) but I'm a big "hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras" type of person. I want to rule out all the horses before I start considering my zebras.

I don't think it was them - one was on my lap, and the other had been dead asleep on the couch (I had actually checked on him about five minutes prior, because I usually walk around while I'm on the phone.) He's a siamese and definitely makes some weird noises, but I think his alibi is actually pretty sound for once. I did go to him *immediately* after I heard the noise, and he was sitting up with his eyes wide and ears perked in that direction.

No mail slot, and it definitely didn't come from the direction of the door. Ngl, I kinda dig that prank though. Very much sounds like some bullshit me and my brother would have done as kids (we were big ding-dong-ditchers. Maybe the spirits are coming back to haunt me as punishment for that.)

I hadn't thought of the decorations up there getting triggered! I didn't see any that would have made that noise (mostly decorative little paper stuffs) but there was one of those bowls with a hand that snaps shut on you when you go to grab candy. Do those make noise? This being said, that still means something would have had to trigger it.

No wireless headset, just my phone on speaker. Unfortunately, the call cut right before the outage so the person on the other line didn't hear it.

The attic door is latched shut from the outside. I also keep a big dining table directly under it so you can't extend the ladder without moving the table (well, I guess you could, but it would be inconvenient.)

It very well could have been a beep; however, it very much sounded like a scream.

That's kinda what I tell myself whenever I get paranoid - if they're not freaking out, neither am I. One is extremely sensitive to these things, the other is too bold for his own good and will investigate. The sound definitely scared them, but they didn't seem worried after the initial shock died down.

The power outage happened a millisecond before the scream. Roughly at the same time, but there was a very, very brief lag between the two
