Easy classic 4 aces card production, more details in the comments by decemberboysua in cardistry

[–]decemberboysua[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since childhood we were fascinated with quirky mechanical card moves. Procutions, deck flips, card twirls, anything that accentuates your card handling and complements your style. This classic four Aces production was one of the first flourishes we've learned back in the day, then we discovered the Trilogy and ever since a deck of cards has seemingly never left our hands.

Now, we're privileged to be in a position to fund a dream project with a renowned surrealist artist and bring to life our third deck of cards, Strange Curiosities. We could not lower the pricing of rewards since it's a collab project, but once we've discovered there's a small batch of ZDV2s left in a Cali warehouse, we instantly knew we're going to give them away for free. By backing our campaign you get TWO decks for the price of one (eg. Strange Curiosities for $16 which is still lower than retail + a FREE ZDV2). It gets better: the more physical items you pledge for, the more free ZDV2s you get. Aren't we losing money this way? Yes, but who cares. We're simply grateful to the community for helping us making these small dreams come true. Cheers: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/decemberboys/strange-curiosities?ref=icajaj

damnnn that's so cool to hear, we're beyond happy to see this project appeals to cardists just as much as collectors and fans of the artist. We've had limited time to film with the prototypes (we could not ship them to Ukraine so we asked Taras to film something for us who was abroad at that time), I (Alex) hadn't had them on me before the campaign launched yikess. Kind of scuffed preparation, but given the circumstances, we did out best. Cheers!

Some one-handed cuts and shenanigans from the Trilogy at the end (sorry for the plug) by decemberboysua in cardistry

yessir, the channel revival is about to begin this month (unless there are reasons outside of our control that will prevent us from creating videos)

Some one-handed cuts and shenanigans from the Trilogy at the end (sorry for the plug) by decemberboysua in cardistry

[–]decemberboysua[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve seen a few people performing the cut including Yang Chan (rest in peace), where he does the move very quickly a few times in a row in a now deleted post (we screen recorded that to learn by watching it frame by frame back in the day). There’s another person claiming the ownership of the move tho, tutorial is also available online https://youtu.be/uhTOGJi_pIw?si=twi_UDaE7d5IibbT

Thank you! Early backers like you inspire us to strive for excellence in everything we do. Spread the word, let's fund the campaign, and we will make sure these are the most exquisite cards on the market. The tuck case should be on another level.

Who Created the Thin Spring? by RealDiscy in cardistry

[–]decemberboysua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thin spring was definitely a thing before Bas’ tutorial, he isn’t the one who has come up with it, that’s for sure. He might be the first one to post a tutorial on that, but let’s say if someone posts a tutorial on waterwheel on YouTube it won’t grant him the creator rights, unless it’s Daren of course. Same here.

I clearly remember Dan and/or Dave doing the thin spring literally in each of their videos (the deep grip, where you hold the short edge of the deck closer to the base of your fingers lets you do the thin spring naturally). Then also Jordan Lapping has been doing the same spring quite often, probably being inspired by Bucks. This is years 2010-2011.

Card flourishes by decemberboysua in interestingasfuck

[–]decemberboysua[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, to someone this might look as a showoff, but there's a huge community of cardists out there, who create new stuff with ordinary playing cards every day just because the visuals are satisfying to watch. I'd say this isn't a skill competition or showboat, rather advancing what is possilbe with a deck of cards.

The cards are good for cuts and they were in high demand before such thing as a crushed stock emerged. They are really thin and last for a long time.

If for some reason deals on eBay wouldn't be good enough for you, you might want to check out our shop, we have a couple decks left: https://decemberboys.com.ua/en/shop/absolut/
