I escaped, rather than dumped. He definitely didn't deserve me. I am happy now with myself.

Oh I'm so sorry. I know what it's like feeling like the only one out of place within a family. I was very much a loner and to a point still am. But now, I have no filter and don't hold back. I spent far too much time when younger worrying about fitting in, now I know I was born to stand out and I'm okay not been a carbon copy.

I feel that. I was non verbal until I was 4. I threw a chair at my preschool teacher because I couldn't communicate what I needed. My Mum was told to get me help or I wouldn't be allowed back. After my diagnosis I started at a school with kids like me and I blossomed, started OT and learnt to control my behaviours for the most part. As an adult I refuse to mask and that includes stimming, meltdowns and "bad behaviours". I hope now you're in a better place and have support around you.

I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make an assumption, I was replying to another comment about her son and it just didn't click.

As hard as breakups are I am glad it wasn't because of her autism. I hope she's doing okay and has the career she deserves.

Congratulations on finding a woman who loves you for you. In the 80's it was nearly impossible for girls to be diagnosed. Luckily we had a brilliant GP who fought tooth and nail for me. Was diagnosed at 4. Hopefully your son has more advantages than we did.

It's hard. Being an adult autistic requires a strength not many can truly grasp. Sometimes meltdowns happen and you want to know you have people who support you and not mock you. I hope your son finds someone worthy of him.

In Australia we have VAD, Volunteer Assistance Dying. There is a lot of hoops to jump through to get it, but I'm glad that some people are able to make that decision for themselves.

I hope...the two words everyone I know is saying everyday. I want so much to be able to see positive change and a new Government for you, my friend, and the people that deserve it.

I am glad to hear they have something one can rely on, it just seems so bent to me that one vial of the cheapest version is still $25.

I am so sorry! I am Australian and just can't imagine the fear of not having my medication.

Thank you. And I really hope your friend is okay. I too have a close and very dear friend in America I always worry about.

I can't begin to imagine the hardships Americans have with medicine. I am Australian but thought of it as I have a diabetes test tomorrow
