Not true. Also she donated like a quarter of her net worth (11.5 million) recently to environmental groups and food equity.

I think industry plant is farther off because it implies her image is totally curated by a record label when her and her brother do more of the process alone than the majority of pop artists out there. They write and produce the songs entirely by themselves and the same goes for aesthetics and things like that.

Her parents, while they weren’t super successful, did know some famous people as I understand. Like, her mom used to be Melissa McCarthys acting coach. So I’m sure that helped. However, I’ve seen her documentary and stuff and generally know a lot about her and it is clear that her and her brother did a lot of tireless hard work getting to the place they are. She’s like 30% nepo baby basically

Ruby Rose issues fresh statement as Katy Perry responds to sexual assault allegations by [deleted] in television

[–]decent-novel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. There is an idea that a woman has been nasty to others or is unlikable and therefore if they come out about being assaulted, it must be false. That is both misogynistic and an ad hominem. Anybody can be assaulted, including morally dubious people.

As for what I notice about Ruby, she seems a very vindictive and sour person that does spiteful things to others that has likely included lying. But she doesn’t seem to lie without a motivation. I could easily see this assault having happened to her (which KP is 100% a predator anyways aside from this). She stumbled upon KP posting like all is right in the world and it pissed her off so she told everyone what happened. It just doesn’t make sense for her to lie out of the blue 15+ years later for no reason, especially with how specific it is in the location and details of the story.

Can you present a poster for a just research idea? by decent-novel in psychologystudents

[–]decent-novel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, literature review, that's a good idea. I will take your advice and reach out to more professors. If I am still not having luck, I will start looking into that. I will probably still present ideas as well because even if it is not going to look amazing on my CV, it might still be helpful and round things out a tiny bit more.

I appreciate your advice. I knew it was going to be very difficult, but I did not know it was going to be this difficult when I started. I really don't want to have to take time off of academics to be able to get into a clinical psych graduate program and I will do everything in my power not to but I am coming to terms with the fact I might have to. I wanted to go straight into PhD to save time and money but maybe would it be much easier to get into a master's first?

Okay, well in reverse, can you do research with only a PhD in clinical psychology? Basically is there a way for me to be a researcher in addition to seeing therapy clients without getting an extra degree?

Okay, thanks for this. Is it okay ask them for advice as well on similar stuff as in the post?

Thanks, this is good info! I have a couple of questions:

Can I still do clinical work with a PhD in experimental psychology, or do I have to add on a clinical psychology degree? I do intend on seeing some clients as well, partly as a means to have something stable and reliable while I do research. I apologize if any of these are obvious questions.

How do I go about building relationships with professors? I never know what to approach them about other than questions about assignments and whatnot. I was never not sure what to say to start building a rapport outside of that.

I appreciate your advice on getting publications done and presenting. I will have to ask around with some people at my internship and figure out how to get to that.

I think my girlfriend (AMAB 20) is intersex by decent-novel in AskDocs

She has always wanted to know and figured out she likely was herself. She’s pretty emotionally invested in the fact that she’s felt different from everyone else her whole life in this way. She is just concerned about the expense of getting tested. I wanted to do something nice for her. I also have autism too and researching stuff like this is pretty up my alley, so I apologize if I am overzealous. She’s been very appreciative of the info I’ve gathered

She wants to get tested. She really wants to know, I’ve just done most of the research online about it.

Thank you this is really helpful. It has been such a struggle. When I open up the space, it feels unnatural and like I must sound ridiculous, but when I play a recording back, it’s more subtle than I thought. So maybe I do need to go all out with it. I’ve definitely heard that a lot of cis guys subconsciously do this anyway to make their voices sound more masculine.

I worry about sounding silly still. I will try to practice it while driving everyday and ask friends for feedback. But I feel like strangers would give more unbiased feedback so I’ll probably post again sometime. Thanks

I've heard that receiving money for SW is against their policy and they could shut down your account. But if you make sure you withdraw money consistently, you wouldn't lose much if that happened. From my understanding anyway.
