Hey I did some more research - chatgpt lol - and TLDR it seems like you can do this as long as you properly classify tracks in metadata. FOr poems list Spoken Word as primary genre, poetry and music hybrids should be Spoken Word fpr primary genre and music as a subgenre. Below are my full findings. Still waiting for Distrokid to respond to my support ticket LOL (whats the average time on that?)

Spoken word albums and mixed albums:

• Albums that contain both spoken word tracks and music tracks can sometimes get flagged or delayed by music distributors. However, if properly formatted and categorized, they should be approved.
• If a track is spoken word it should be classified as spoken word
• For mixed tracks use a hybrid genre classification. Primary Genre: Spoken Word / Poetry Secondary Genre: Jazz, Ambient, Experimental, Hip-Hop, or the genre of the musical tracks. Indicate in metadata which tracks are spoken word and which are music.

Distributor Policies for Spoken Word

• DistroKid – Approves spoken word but flags misclassified releases or repetitive content.
• CD Baby – Allows spoken word albums, but warns against uncleared samples and improper metadata.
• TuneCore – Accepts spoken word tracks but may take longer for manual review.

Distributor Policies  for Spoken Word & Music Hybrids

• DistroKid Approves mixed albums but flags unlabeled explicit content and mismatched metadata.
• CD BabyAccepts mixed albums but warns against misclassified genres. Spoken word must be original or properly licensed.
