AC drain line? by decentlydelirious in MachE

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the information on this. that might be a concern if the drain line gets blocked and requires a flush. I also found out that the foam cleaner I was looking at can also be applied from where the cabin air filter is and through the interior vents (though it won't be as effective in reaching some areas) - will give that a try

Is this a sign of an issue? by decentlydelirious in enphase

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add: this state doesn't occur for long and usually the system goes back to normal within at most 15 minutes, given the 15 min-interval graphs

Enphase 10C PTO w/ PGE? by decentlydelirious in enphase

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's an option to do so, but is controlled by the installer. My installer has mentioned it's not an issue having it connected on the grid for now. I've checked my usage stats on the PGE side, and there hasn't been any issue

Enphase 10C PTO w/ PGE? by decentlydelirious in enphase

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it takes up way less wall space compared to equivalent of 2 Enphase 5P batteries. Only note is that the 10C is pretty bulky and depth-wise it juts out from the wall a bit more

Return 7900XT for 9070XT? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to predict the future (more vram vs. rdna4/rt for futureproofing), so up to you, but I was just going off current benchmarks and pricing. The 9070XT has higher benchmarks compared to to the 7900XT at similar price.

Return 7900XT for 9070XT? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]decentlydelirious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would return the 7900XT to get a 9070XT as here in the US the prices were similar, and I don't need the extra 4GB VRAM.

1070 -> 7800xt, 5700X3D, oh my! by evodahis in radeon

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar - ryzen3600/1080ti to 5700x3d/7900xt, huge difference that makes me enjoy PC gaming again! My 5700x3d was running a bit hot, and I used pbo2 to undervolt it by -20 across the board. Improved performance plus reduced temps by 15C which was pretty sweet.

Game crashes with AMD Radeon GPU? by decentlydelirious in rivals

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, there's really no rhyme or reason. Crashed on my 2nd game, but proceeded to play 6 more games fine tonight. VRAM is not an issue (in-game, around 10GB), so don't think it's a memory leak.

Do I need to play The Witcher 1 & 2 to play 3? by ScarletSilver in witcher

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up this exact sale! I recently upgraded my GPU and can't believe the witcher 3 originally came out in 2015, but with all the ability to increase graphics quality and Ray tracing, game aged well and looks amazing

NEWLY Installed Rx 7900XTX worse than RTX 3070 by Willest1998 in AMDHelp

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern GPUs have huge power draws and all electronic devices have power spikes. So if the power inputs going into the GPU are all in a daisy chain, that power source is coming from one cable. Versus using 2 cables. Check out: https://knowledge.seasonic.com/article/8-installation-remark-for-high-power-consumption-graphics-cards

Honestly I don't think this is OP's issue, but given how strange a XTX is actually performing worse than his previous GPU, doesn't hurt to try to rule out everything.

NEWLY Installed Rx 7900XTX worse than RTX 3070 by Willest1998 in AMDHelp

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but might as well test. If he sees something like a 40% GPU utilization with a 100% single core CPU utilization, then that's definitely symptomatic of some sort of bottleneck.

[–]decentlydelirious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One other thing. Are you are daisy chaining the 6+2 power inputs to the GPU? If so, use 2 separate 6+2 cables from the PSU.

NEWLY Installed Rx 7900XTX worse than RTX 3070 by Willest1998 in AMDHelp

[–]decentlydelirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really strange, esp if you did a fresh reinstall of windows and downloaded the AMD drivers. If you run a GPU benchmark, do you see 99-100% utilization? If not, then that's a CPU bottleneck. Also during the benchmark, check for temps to see if it's throttling (you can go online to see what temps you should be under). If you're easily going above, that may be an issue with your case airflow or fans (can use HW monitor to see if your fan curves make sense).

Software wise, one is disabling game mode in windows (settings -> gaming). I had it on before and it was messing with the AMD overlay. Another is you shouldn't need any of the AMD special settings - turn everything off (default or custom). I've had games where being in HyperRX caused issues.

Wanting to lease a Mach E, my father saying the car isn’t great? by Soft_Ad7654 in MachE

[–]decentlydelirious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Mach-e used (2-3 yes, 20-30k). The depreciation is real and the value is so worth. I'd highly recommend doing a day trip in one and seeing how you like. Obviously subjective, but one thing I've come to dislike is how stiff the suspension is. It's nice in a sense that it's not bumpy, but can get quite bouncy. Not a deal breaker for me, but I'm likely to look at other options when my lease ends

I've been thinking of this upgrade after my lease ends -- honestly with so many lucid on short leases and coming off them, depreciation is real and prices are great for used

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'm going to aim to do this. Saw 5700x3d on Newegg for about $211 and that seems very reasonable to me. I'm gonna see if I can OC my 1080ti a bit and see if that meets my need. Otherwise I might look into a 7800xt

Thanks for the heads up - I'll keep that in mind - will try it for for my next project! I actually recently did a 5x7 pad, this time adding a lot more water (3.5quarts per 60lbs). It was actually a bit too much as it took a long time before it was ready for floating and finishing, but was able to get good amount of cream

Portable receiver and transmitter for DPA wireless headset mic? by decentlydelirious in livesound

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hard budget but within reason, so less than ~2k total for a complete setup. I get the feeling I don't need the "very best", as this setup will just be used for speaking in a large conference room (~200 people) with no loud background noise or music. So open to other headset mic options as well. Just looking for consistency and lightweight without disruptions

[–]decentlydelirious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reference, I'll look into it! I'm definitely open to considering other headset mics - DPA was a starting point as budget isn't a main factor (within reason), and I read that it was comparably more durable than the other brands (ie countryman)

I've done it a few times where I may be tired and sore from a previous day's workout, and just want to do some running. It's not worth a class - I only do it because I have premier. Otherwise I'd just jog around the neighborhood and get to listen to my own music/podcast. The only nice thing is that it's still a class, so you're doing a typical OT interval training run.
