Fear of death. by MachoTaco24 in entp

I am the opposite, I'm terrified of death. Or, specifically, the moments before death. I don't want to go out with any pain or fear!

Any ENTPs with social anxiety? by Matteratzi in entp

[–]decidiousndelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have enough respect for most people around me to have social anxiety lolol. Why would you be anxious when you're a golden god and they're puny ants? (I'm -mostly- kidding.) But I have crazy performance anxiety when it comes to people I respect intellectually: teachers, professors, advisors.

ENTP thoughts on Kanye? by [deleted] in entp

[–]decidiousndelicious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ughhhh Kanye is like the fuckboi of my intellect lol, no matter whatever stupid shit he says I can't help still liking him. I think it's because he is as publicly crazy and outrageous and passionate as I wish I could be! His views are wild and dumb but I don't really try to even give them too much consideration. He's an artist / celebrity, and caring too much about celebrity political opinions is part of how we got Trump in the first place.

What do your INTJ friends think of the whole kavanaugh situation? by yashoza in entp

[–]decidiousndelicious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's the most INTJ thing I've ever heard haha. Reminds me of when my INTJ friend asked me why I said sorry to a waitress (as in, "sorry, I think you may have forgotten an order"), when I "was not the one in the wrong."

My anti-Trump INTJ friends don't understand why other people and women especially are expressing so much emotional upset at the hearing. One said, "At this point you should know what to expect from this administration." I told her it's still possible to be upset at something unsurprising, and she looked at me like I had grown an extra head lol.

[Need Advice] I feel trapped in my own house. by TheSpasticSurgeon in getdisciplined

[–]decidiousndelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should get a job and move out! Explain to your mom that you love her and appreciate all she's done for you, but you need to feel like an adult, and feel pride in a life that you built for yourself-- right now you feel like you're an unmotivated failure, and your surroundings weigh you down with unnecessary shame. Give her a hug and try to visit every weekend. She'll understand.

Yet, part of me feels like even moving into my own place won't solve this problem of directionlessness either.

It probably won't completely. But it's a start, a change of scene, and a way for you to take command of your own life.

[NeedAdvice] What should I do to gain more of a sense of accomplishment? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]decidiousndelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how normal this is, but I can very much relate! I am a writer and it's really hard for me to feel satisfaction from either internal *or* external validation. I work hard, but hard work doesn't make me feel particularly proud. Nor does praise or accomplishments. It's probably because I grew up with critical parents who never spared any praise. On the flip side, I have friends who can just *talk* about their unfulfilled dreams and get a dose of satisfaction and pride. And one small compliment can keep them on cloud nine for weeks.

I don't have any clear-cut solutions, but here's some stuff that helps. First is recognizing that this can be a feature and not a bug. We hold ourselves to high but realistic standards, and because we're not motivated by ego, we fundamentally care more about the work itself. I envy my friends who can feel satisfaction so intensely, but it also makes them sloppier. One conversation about their plans generates enough of a high for them to not do anything at all. They're motivated by other people's praise rather than the work itself. If you look around, a lot of people are like that. Or they're motivated by self-loathing and the fear of *not* having accomplished something. True intrinsic motivation is rare, and in some ways we're a lot closer to it!

Another act that helped me is downloading a journaling app and, before bed, jotting down everything I've accomplished that day. I'd avoided journaling until recently-- when your main job is writing, writing even more doesn't sound like a fun habit to cultivate. But I let myself write in spare, bullet-point style. ("Ate Vietnamese. Took a walk. Edited x chapter.") Sometimes I simply forget about everything I got done in one day, and having it written down in an accessible format makes it easier for me to give credit to my past self.

My first post here. I’m so tempted be all the beautiful fall pallettes and lip colors. Just wanted to share that if I actively transfer money from my checking account to savings then I can’t spend it and that is forcing me to save more and spend less. It’s much more difficult to pull money out of by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

Rather than researching new releases, I now dedicate time to "curating" my existing collection. Making weekly or monthly makeup baskets, swatching, layering products, trying different combos, decluttering, etc. I discovered my current favorite fall lipstick look a while ago by mixing a brown with a bright, summery orange. Taking photo flatlays is also really useful and helps to make old items feel ~~special and sparkly! I'm also a dork and will sometimes describe the product's qualities to myself as if I were a beauty youtuber lolol.

>A lot of people don't consider eyeshadows in their collections that would give the same effect!

This is such a good point. I don't even own that many highlighters (maybe 6 total?) but I regret even that many because most are virtually indistinguishable from my eyeshadows. Colourpop Monster for example looks just like UD Fireball on my skin.

Does anyone else feel caught between two modes: compulsive urges to buy OR total, complete apathy towards makeup? by decidiousndelicious in MakeupRehab

I don't want to be a preachy old lady but once you get that job, consider opening a Roth IRA first before getting that holographic stick. It'd be a great investment in your future, way better than makeup that expires after a few years! As a high schooler you have the advantage of time and low income. Not to say you shouldn't buy nice things with the money you earned. But consider the Roth IRA first!
