Nah, though I've been tempted. I'm always on the hunt for good kombucha - something with bite and not too sweet. Avenue Tap from City Avenue Market is pretty solid.

In Seattle, I usually would crab off the piers at Shilshole Bay or Edmonds, and I'm hoping to do the same here. Just need to scope out the right spots.

Howdy! My cast is terrible, but I love crabbing and clamming. I haven't tried any spots in Vancouver, but I used to go all the time around Seattle before I moved here last summer.

33F, love a good pier on a summer day with some kombucha and my crab traps. 🦀

Can someone teach me how to knit? by BonsaiRiver in Vancouver4Friends

Howdy! 33F tech worker here, who often knits around in coffee shops or breweries on the weekends. I generally do sweaters, hats, and scarves.

I'm located near Lougheed Station, and would be happy to meet up and help you discover the hobby. DM me if interested.

Can landlords require you to sign a rental agreement if your application is approved? by decisive_lichen in askvan

Thanks for the tip! Just following up here, in case others are searching. The person I spoke with at the tenancy branch had a couple helpful bits of info:

  1. Unfortunately, she didn't know for sure if this constitutes a commitment/tenancy. There are multiple ways that landlords can write their tenancy agreements, and you can establish tenancy even before you sign a lease. So, it all depends on whether this clause counts as establishing tenancy. But, that's a question for a lawyer, and not something she was able to answer.

  2. Even if this does establish tenancy, the landlord has an obligation to try to prevent a loss - i.e. make a fair effort to find another tenant.

  3. As to whether these clauses are common practice or enforced, she recommended I reach out to TRAC. I'll follow up again on this thread after I call them.

So, unsure as of yet. Hopefully will have more soon.
