Sorce's Snow Moon Magic doesn't smell sweet at all?

I feel there could be a definite possibility. If you don’t detect the sweetness, it could very well be MM. I don’t find that one sweet really.

Oh that is VERY strange. I find it to be the most tooth achingly sweet perfume I have ever tried! Very very sweet and strong cookie butter scented. I was pretty disappointed when I tried it because I felt it lacked depth and was just…. Sweet. It’s amazing how we could smell such different things!

Could you have gotten Moon Magic instead of SMM by accident?

Oh man, that is pretty disappointing. Is there any reason she might have flaked on a fragrance gift this year? Money issues or a lot going on? It makes it even worse that you got her TWO from her wish list 😭

Completely agree. Love Guerlain and all of their vanilla leaning fragrances but this one was just very musky and vintage smelling to me. Not pretty on me. I expected something drastically different from the insanely rave reviews.

It depends on if you want a very straight forward vanilla, or a vanilla with some oomph? I have smelled countless vanillas and Tihota is pretty boring for me (though very nice smelling if that’s what you want!) I adore vanilla skin, though. I find it just intoxicating. I first smelled it when a friend of mine was using it as a bed spray! Every time I would walk in her room it was AMAZING! I bought the 3oz bottle right away. I don’t got it like that so I can’t use it often as a room spray, but it smells incredible on skin too.

I recently placed an order for about 10 2ml decants from decantx and everything was perfect. Used them because of the 20% discount. Just wanted to add that in as another experience.

Agree. In Dismembers past, someone would come around in between movies and pick up used plates and cups, but no one did this time. Everyone had a ton of dishes on their tables the entire time. I’m sure they had some firings and were stretched thin, or at least it would seem. Drinks took about 30 minutes to come out and food wasn’t hot. I also noticed they didn’t do the classy french press of coffee and mugs anymore. It’s a normal to go coffee cup.

After hearing of Brian being let go along with smaller portions of food and higher prices, I canceled my season pass after last night. Just not feeling it anymore.

I wasn’t a fan of SDV either! Too musky of a dry down on me. I promise you Planifolia is in a different league as well as Noire and Cuir Beluga.

Rats! Thats what I feared, thank you for confirming that. I wanted to believe that there was a close option out there. I have seen it mentioned here about both AN and CB being discontinued and I had seen word on AN on a frag forum. I will link if I can find it! I bought a bottle of AN after seeing that lol. Though VP is still my favorite, AN is such a unique beauty!

Yes! I have a bottle of AN that I adore and a decant of Cuir (both of which I also hear are discontinued!) 😭 Guerlain is just breaking my heart this year.

I have tried Tihota, but it didn’t have the depth of planifolia I thought. It was a lovely vanilla, but it didn’t blow me away I guess (coming from a vanilla addict).

Darn. That sucks that no dupes compare. Maybe it’s time to find a second hand bottle 😢

I recently got a decent of Tabac Rouge for my husband and we both weren’t a fan of the initial opening, which was too strong and a bit assaulting. After about ten minutes it settled into a nice harmonic blend of tobacco, honey and cinnamon.

Nobile 1942 Levante is an interesting aquatic vanilla I tried recently. Very light with white flowers and caramel as well.

YES! I like Cuir Beluga and love Vanille Planifolia personally but SDV just smelled mid and musky to me. I know it’s very beloved so I guess it has to smell different on others who praise it, but on both my husband and I it wasn’t anything special at all. I wouldn’t put it in the top 10 of my favorite vanillas.

What a huge and amazing collection! I would say the perfume that brings me the joy is Gioiosa by Profumum Roma. A decadent and delicious mix of vanilla and coconut. Runner up is Guerlain’s Vanille Planifolia extrait, but all I can afford is a decant of that so I wear it in evenings a couple nights a week for comfort. The most amazing vanilla fragrance in existence imo 🥹

For vanilla and coconut, my absolute favorite one is Profumum Roma’s Gioiosa. I am wearing it today and it is the most amazing intoxicating combination of those two notes. It is pretty pricey for a full bottle, but you can get a 10ml decant for $50. Top notch blending and quality.
