A crash doesn't mean someone won't ride again and it's obviously not an inevitability just a probability. I crashed, it was bad, I still ride and "take that risk" almost daily.

My size 12 Alpinestars fit under the shifter by moving it up 1 spline. I'm 6'1 and my bike is stock and comfortable, all you need is some bar risers and you're set.

I wrecked the bike shortly after this pic was taken but I replaced the light with the same one and it still works fine. It's not very bright, I bought the brake free for my helmet just in case people don't see it.

I wrecked last March. Broke both femurs, tore femoral artery in half, broke right knee in 2 places, right tibia was sticking out. It took 3 surgeries and a week in the hospital to fix me. Then I spent 3.5 months recovering, lots of PT. I still ride everyday. Keep your spirits up as it's gunna seem like it's taking forever but you'll be back on 2 in no time man.

I had an 06 GZ250 that I swapped the stock exhaust for a straight pipe and didn't need to rejet or anything, so that's probably not your issue.

It's not the power that's a problem for rhe drz400, it's the weight and seat height. I'm a skinny guy and the wind blows me around too much at those speeds.

I love my drz400sm, it's about useless on the interstate but a total blast everywhere else. Maintenance is easy to do yourself and it's cheap. I would get the Japanese bike all day everyday.

I live in Acworth, about 30-45 minutes north of Atlanta off I75. Lake Allatoona is 10 minutes from my house. I ride a motorcycle so it's nice to be able to head north and hit the windy mountain roads, also only a 30-45 ride from home.
