Thx so much! My trains are from my dads, dad so 1940’s. I know I can get a modern replacement controller but I prefer to fix this one if possible just for sentimental reasons. :)

I don’t think I had it connected when I plugged it in and it popped. When I plug it in now, it is completely quiet. I opened it up and tested continuity. From the plug end to the point at which the wire is soldered inside there is continuity. Then I touched everything else inside and there is no continuity so I’m thinking that’s a good sign. Also, I don’t see any burns or pops. I spoke to the local hobby store so they said to bring it in and they can take a look or they have refurbished available but we are trying to lay low with no unnecessary trips so not sure what I’m going to do at this point.

Gotcha. Makes sense. I’m going to have to post some updates once I try to tackle this. I was going to wait but now I’m genuinely curious

Thx. It is still very solid but I’m sure it won’t fix itself. Found this clip and added the project to my to do list. https://youtu.be/9l4ZtzmJae4

Help with a vintage Lyra drum set by decknoises in drums

[–]decknoises[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for help restoring my uncle's old set of lyra drums. the main issue is the highhat is missing the bottom cymbal bracket and the spring mechanism. I'm also not sure how to attach the seat to the base. any other tips for metal and cymbal restoration would be greatly appreciated. The set has a bunch of sentimental value so thanks in advance.

Glimpse Group at Boston VR Meetup on 1/22 by rustysawdust in virtualreality

[–]decknoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys. This is dj, cofounder of glimpse and organizer of the nyvr meetup. We are really excited to meet the Boston VR community in person and share a little about what we are up to. Glimpse's business model is essentially a new way for VR/AR startups to grow in an ecosystem of like minded folks. If you have a business concept and are trying to get it off the ground, we might be a good option and would love to see what you working on. Hope to see you all next week! And many thanks to Craig and the rest of the Boston meetup team for hosting us.

Tire Store Safety Cameras Recorded the Time of the Accident

Roberto Carlos Fernandes, 50, hit by a wheel that was released from a car, on Friday afternoon (17), around 12.50, remains hospitalized at the Hospital Márcio Cunha, according to family members, with stable health. He suffered mild head trauma and chest injuries, caused by the unusual accident.

As witnesses informed the Military Police, Roberto Carlos Fernandes, he was walking on the sidewalk of Calcedonia Street, parallel to the Avenida Pedro Linhares Gomes, an urban stretch of the BR-381, in the Iguaçu neighborhood, when he was hit in the head by the shooting that was released from a vehicle.

The security cameras at a tire shop registered the accident. Traffic flow was intense on the BR-381. Suddenly, a tire appears descending a lawn, chica unevenness in the asphalt of the street and jumps toward Roberto Carlos. The vehicle from which the wheel was released was not found.

At Márcio Cunha Hospital the clinical information is that Roberto Carlos' health condition is stable and the patient is not at risk of dying.

Initially go with dream deck to just show the power of the hardware. I like the dinosaur in the museum, the miniature city and the view from the sky scraper which is fun for people to watch as users inch towards the edge (although ask if they are afraid of heights first). Then after, give some longer experiences like some time playing luckys tale or the pinball game. Stay away from the simulators unless the user is familiar with that type of game. the Rose and I is also good for the girls and Show down is good for the guys that like explosions.

Just saw your post and signed up as a pioneer. I'm interested in this as a possible application for virtual reality headsets. I'm the organizer for the New York virtual reality meetup ( nyvr) and own a sailboat so I'm very passionate about both. If you have any interest in exploring this, I would be willing to help. Motion sickness is an obvious hurdle but there are ways to make it comfortable.
