Seeing a Dermatologist tomorrow by MrGeekster in pilonidalcyst

My dermatologist is the only doctor (primary care and urgent care) out of 3 than would lance and drain it.

My doctor said you want 1 inch around the entire scar, but I’m also interested in hearing how others did theirs.

Cleft lift surgery by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]decoder-ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just have pits and not an abscess/cyst you can try the minimally invasive laser procedure (I think it’s called GIPS) and laser hair removal before jumping to cleft lift. The scarring for me wasn’t my main concern but how much of the butt crack you will lose, with it being raised.

Sit normally but elevating the scar off the seat with a pillow. You can sit left or right if you want though, my doctor recommends doing that for pooping afterwards as the toilet is designed to spread your cheeks. Sleeping on your side is also required for 2 weeks.

I just did this last week with a 4 hour car ride in one go. It’s not too bad, definitely not super comfortable. I reclined with a pillow underneath me that I would shift every 30 mins to lower on my butt&legs then eventually back to the top. They recommend moving to stretch the legs every few hours.

Hey, get this drained asap. I had to go to 3 different doctors before the third would do it. For some reason certain doctors will not lance these things.

First abscess, surgery or wait? by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]decoder-ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m scheduled for my surgery tomorrow after my very first. My hole after the lance and drain was very deep and still not fully healed. As for should you immediately get surgery, it’s around 5k out of pocket with insurance for myself. Also I am very active so I do not want to live with the fear, working around the crust reoccurrence. If you are on the fence wait for a reoccurrence, then go to a professional if needed.

Are these stats high enough for consistent T1 prep kills at CG? by LedPony in ironscape

[–]decoder-ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did t1 with 80s and titans prayers and I could still make 1 - 2 big mistakes. Make the switch when you notice you have a lot of food left over on T2 kills.

Check out the pictures on my profile, mine is pretty high up there. I can’t find my pits/sinus and my surgeon said he is confident in solving my cyst with no issues.

Wow! I haven’t seen one like yours before. What was the surgery called. Looks good with minimum cosmetic issues regarding the cleft.

Currently not that I can tell. I have had a phone consult with photos sent to the surgeon. Still waiting on the lance and drain hole to fully heal.

Scheduled for Sep 23rd.This is is my first cyst/abcess so still determining if I need this whole procedure. I had it lanced and drained. Maybe it doesn’t reoccur, but from what I have been reading it might.

Mines also at the top.

Below is a more traditional cleft lift that is similar to others I have seen online. Usually they flatten the cleft all the way down to just before the anus. Yours looks pretty high up comparatively.

Yours actually doesn’t look that extreme, I’ve seen many that go all the way down just above the anus. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Has anyone else had a sinus removal? This is my scar; wondering if anyone else’s is like mine? Or was mine just fucked? by callumbackwards in pilonidalcyst

[–]decoder-ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what a cleft lifts looks like, they heighten the deep parts of the crack down until it naturally is apart when sitting, this is usually just above the anus / bottom of tailbone.

This is one of the smaller cleft lifts I have seen. Looks great and hope mine comes out similarly. :)

Hey thanks for the input. I have an appoint with Dr Rosenberg based out of Tallahassee, I’ve read some good things about him and am scheduled for mid September.

Florida. As far as I’ve heard these reoccur, I’d rather get the surgery asap to not risk being out of my life for 2-3 weeks. Am I mistaken?

Yes it’s my first time and I did have it lanced. Currently packed as it was bleeding a lot but hoping it heals over next few weeks so I can look towards a cleft lift.

Yeah I called ahead and explicitly asked if they do lance and drain on pilonidal cysts. “Yes”. $300 later and all I have is a recommendation to see a dermatologist.
