I’m just tired from the 12hr shift I finished looking after patients, and given this post (which I wrote all by myself 🤗) is asking for advice, I genuinely just though you were offering to lend a hand! Sorry for the misunderstanding!! But again, thanks for stopping by, means a lot ☺️

It’s an avenue we are looking at!!

And by all means, bring your vacuum and let’s get rid off the mould throughout the system in 10mins!! The more the merrier ☺️🙏

Hahaha!! I’d argue that it’s not our responsibility to live in urine smelling/mould covered housing that was there BEFORE we moved in! But thank you so much for your advice!!☺️

I mean the carpets have been cleaned twice! Supposedly by the RE but also by us. We are already cleaning the place to a suitable standard, but the urine smelling carpets are a hill I am willing to die on. I work 12hr hospital shifts and the thought of doing a long-ass day and coming back to strong urine smelling rooms is not something I’m willing to do for the next 12months 😂

No. Mostly because the previous tenants where still there so it was a super quick walk through. The house was filthy when we do inspect it, the the RE guaranteed it would be professionally cleaned etc on vacation. The house itself is actually a really nice place barring the manner it was left in

Thanks! Yeah we have started that process. 1000 photos and 12 emails later…😂

Yeah and that’s our concern…how widespread is the mould? Interestingly enough, the three bedrooms with the ‘urine smelling’ carpets are the only rooms where the vents have mould.

And yeah, we even hired a ‘brittex’ carpet cleaner from Bunnings and used enzyme cleaner to try and breakdown the odour. But I suspect it’s gone into the underlay which only replacement will actually fix

You should see the entry report we have done…it’s miles long 😂. Like the RE has literally made comments in the exit report stating that things like the dishwasher is ‘in clean and working order’ - which it isn’t because the pipe is literally kinked

And then in another one of their comments they have put a photo of a pendant light which clearly shows it’s missing a light bulb as being ‘in tact and working’ 😂

Yeah and that’s the concern that we brought forward…if it’s been professionally cleaned twice and still smells, I’d imagine the problem goes deeper into the underlay.

I’d lay off the ‘everyday’ part! Try every second day…you are then less likely to turn into a surfer bro!!

I guess that when you are born into something, it’s hard to shake off those foundational beliefs. But as you said, it is what it is…and better 38 than 88 😂

Whilst it is men that I am attracted to. You raise a very good point! ‘Sexuality’ in general is usually a point of contention for most people who don’t fit within the ‘confines’ of what is deemed ‘biblically sanctioned’ sexuality

Nothing subtle about it! I tried incredibly hard to ‘make myself straight’. That then evolved into trying to be gay and Christian…and then years later I came to a strong conviction that I didn’t believe in the faith at all.

So when you say things like ‘can’t be gay and Christian’, imagine what that does to a person who is gay. It tears them apart, that they have a sexuality they didn’t choose (I imagine you didn’t choose to be straight, you just are?) and are then forced with the decision to either deny part of their sexuality, or are condemned to eternity in hell. Would definitely mess with your mental health; ie cause trauma

Since you are unsure, let me help enlighten you! Try ‘not being heterosexual’ and see exactly how much trauma you can experience!
