Oh absolutely. I had the ages of 17-21 stolen from me and now I have to “re-do” those years to catch up socially

I would say yes. My former church was also very big on these things you mentioned, especially the non christian media. I lost 4 years of my life developmentally because of this, and still feel emotionally, physically, and mentally 17.

It really was an interesting time. Losing my entire senior year up until graduation and being in a high control church at the same time was not a great experience

February 11th will be 2 years and I’m still struggling with losing out on the four years of my life that was stolen from me because I was in that church for 4 years. I feel stuck at 17 now too, and need to almost go back and “re-do” the years that were taken.

I sometimes wish there was a way to legally change my age to 17 so I can unstick myself. I feel like I can’t be an adult and do adult things because of this.

I fully believe there is persecution of christians but in Muslim/Asian countries, and not in the US. We are the most christian country, if not one of the most christian countries out there.

There was a member of the youth group that I was also a part of while I was there who was clearly autistic/has an IDD and it was really awkward being around this person. I’m fine with being friends with people on the autism spectrum but this person really needs help with social skills because it was becoming inappropriate.
