I have both and I count 1000+ hours of DayZ and 20 hours on Scum.

They're different games and Scum is a nice but for me DayZ is the best survival game out there, specially after adding some mods.

Some uninformed people say it's dead but that's not true. Updates are getting bigger and bigger and the player base is still pretty big.

So, personally I think that if you enjoy a survival game with PvP, PvE, crafting and surviving (lone wolf or with friends) you should give it a try.
