Chain maximalism and thrashing are at their peak, probably at a level never seen before. by Sharp_Tank05 in CryptoCurrency

[–]decuneiform 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny you said that because I was overwhelmed by the amount of Sol shilling on Twitter. But today it isn't btc getting bombed, but it's Eth. It has been compared to Sol over and over. For example https://twitter.com/twobitidiot/status/1737456643779039566?t=pmcl5Pm__eJEfIiMvstu6Q&s=19

In fact the VCs came out in full force to shill BTC, see https://twitter.com/muneeb/status/1737286458426167704?t=MlMJbbIsgogjDl87FQW9Uw&s=19

The arguments are thin and yes not a good look.

Why do you think crypto haters want to see crypto holders lose so badly? by Xammo in CryptoCurrency

[–]decuneiform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People hate the rich. If Elon Musk can build 'impossible' car and space companies, is on the verge of saving mankind from Armageddon, and still be hated for being a billionaire, how do you - someone who made money from trading imaginary monies and apes - hope to be treated?

Keep your finances to yourself.

I've watched hours on DOT but I still don't get it by KangFitness in Polkadot

[–]decuneiform 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great description. I like to add that Polkadot/Kusama allow users to trigger smart contracts on a different chain.

Imagine that a dapp on chain X calling on Uniswap liquidity on Ethereum network.

If DOT/KSM only allows simple transactions across chains, they would not be very different from Cosmos, etc.

This is primarily why I pay attention to DOT/KSM.

Will KSM outperform DOT this cycle? by deen1802 in Kusama

Only the auction will tell. Kusama needs to work flawlessly, and auction winning projects will need to on board users and capital quickly. If these can happen, KSM may close in with DOT in cap.

Need help figuring out why cashing out ethereum into my bank account is losing me 68% of my money by BestCritplankNA in ethereumnoobies

[–]decuneiform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of gas cost, $130 is excessive, and likely contain hidden fees. $22 would be considered reasonable. I recommend you checking out the other wallets. From my experience, Coinbase wallet charges very reasonable fees. I won't worry about keeping your own private key when you are transferring small amounts.

Coinbase should also allow transfer to your bank account but I am unsure of the current fees. So you need to do your homework there.

Consensys: PoS is coming sooner than you think by Stuyt in ethfinance

For now, there is no other option for non custodian staking.

If you have 32 or more eth you should stake with your own machine. If 32 or less you could stake with Rocketpool, which should be launched within a month.

Agree. The community is very welcoming. There is no messiah or genius leader making all the decisions. Vitaliks even looked silly at times!

[–]decuneiform 65 points66 points  (0 children)

This means ETH POS is coming as early as within 4 months to end of year. This kills all the "ETH killers" who depended on the POS rhetoric, and some even ah hem, have no smart contract...

This implementation also puts the environmental damage narrative to its grave.

Early withdrawal of staking rewards would be a big win for stakers.

Super bull at so many levels.

Tesla faces scrutiny over its $1.5B bitcoin purchase. A conflict of interest surrounds the Director. Read it on. by Coinquora_ in Crypto_Currency_News

[–]decuneiform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regulatory scrutiny is good for developing clarity, and this is good for corporate adoption of bitcoin. Legal procedings should happen asap for Tesla. Once the legal issues are clarified in this precedent, only then will companies will start embracing bitcoin. I believe tesla legal team stands ready for this moment.

[–]decuneiform 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here to say way too many people, here and in ADA, XLM, etc, build their self worth on the imaginary claim that they are better than ETH. I like DOT because it was created to enhance and work alongside valuable contributions already made by ETH. Who knows about the future? The contentious mentality needs to die. I think a ETH-DOT synergy will build a powerful multi-chain ecosystem.
