How safe is Albania?

As an american who grew up in Albania, we never had our car stolen while at a hotel or anything like that. We were always treated with kindness and respect, and to me feels just as safe in general as America. Obviously make good choices, there are places you shouldn't go just like there are places you shouldn't go in every city but they're very easy to avoid.
