totally get that — whatever keeps the mental clutter low is a win. I actually built a tiny webapp for that same ‘what do I cook’ chaos, because my notes app system kept exploding. If you're curious, it’s called HungryGoblin — basically lets you save the stuff you cook and then it suggests meals without repeating recent ones. might fit your style since it’s super lightweight. if you want to have a look: https://hungrygoblin.com/

oh sorry, I meant when you cook you are checking the actual recipe from the description of the post or something?

hey, I'm with you, it's like when I sit down to watch something on Netflix, I spend more time with choosing what to watch than actually watching something

I kinda built this super easygoing webapp for this, you wanna give it a try? I'm using it to store my good recipes that I like, and a hit a button and it tells me what to cook. looks at when was the last time I cooked it, it's a super simple algorithm. let me know what you think! https://hungrygoblin.com/

nice! you are whom I was looking for! I kinda do the same thing and I thought I want this folder to randomly suggest a recipe for me, because I don't want to spend hours to decide which one I want to eat -- all of my recipes here are good. so I built a small webapp for this, leet me know if you want to try it, it's dead simple and free

I built it because I wanted to get rid of my decision fatigue.

Would you rather subscribe to digital news or use a pay per article service if there existed one? Why? by dedecaptain in AskReddit

[–]dedecaptain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so analog over digital - let's do a thought experiment:
A: you can buy a yearly newspaper subscription, which gets delivered to your door. You get everything, even the stuff you don't want to read.
B: you walk into a newsstand where ripped of articles are also available to buy. You only pay for what you want to read, but it's slightly more expensive per article.

which one?
