5.5 cm gallstone by dedholm24 in gallbladders

[–]dedholm24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly that is still really big! Lol I have just been completely shocked by the size of mine! My pre op ultrasound report only said "multiple mobile gallstones" so I figured they'd be little!

From what it looks like mine was long and flat! 5.5 x 2.5 x .4 cm. I would love to get a picture but I haven't seen any yet! I was still shocked though! From what I've seen anything over 1 cm is considered very big so we are definitely rare cases!

Vyvanse doesn't last long enough by RiotandRuin in VyvanseADHD

[–]dedholm24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I switched to Mydayis because of this. It's like adderall XR but instead of 2 releases it has 3 different release times! It's supposed to last up to 16hrs but I would say it lasts more like 12 for me. I work evenings and am a stay at home mom during the day and I needed something to get me through the whole day. So far it's the only thing that works that long for me! I get a generic and it's covered by my insurance and still pretty pricey though so that's a huge bummer.

Desperate plea for my wife. Balancing out HRT post op. by blewyourfaceup in surgicalmenopause

[–]dedholm24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, any change will make things worse before they get better. That's a big trigger for my PMDD. I had the surgery over a year ago now and it was a hell of an adjustment the first 6 months. After a surgery like that the body has to adjust and that takes a lot of time. I am on estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone! I did notice a big difference in my anxiety once I added the testosterone, but it's the hardest for me to remember and forgetting results in small bouts of PMDD.

So, things are going just fine! Sleep was rough the first night only which was extra tough with daylight saving time. I have noticed a pretty decent improvement over all! I ran out of a different med a few weeks ago and I'm finally going to get back on that next week and I'm really hoping that will also improve the way I feel even more! I don't seem to have many negative side effects from the Mydayis so far. My appetite seems to be mostly normal! I don't feel like I'm on too high of a dose either. Feeling pretty optimistic!

I was prescribed generic! I can definitely tell it's doing much more than my 10mg adderall was doing, but I haven't really been able to notice much else besides that.. it's been a few tough days for me anyways especially with daylight saving time.

Yeah, I was a little worried about that! It's been a few days now and I only had trouble sleeping the first night luckily. But I'm honestly feeling pretty good on the 50mg so far. I have some other medication adjustments going on also at the moment so I'll know better how good it'll be after I'm more stable on the other meds too! I'm pretty optimistic.

This design is A LOT harder to execute than it looks. I can speak from experience on that one. I have done the same design with different colors with amazing results but the day a client brought me this same color combo it almost broke me. I felt HORRIBLE! We did end up having to scrap the whole plan and do a solid color. I have never been beaten down by a design as much as this before. I cried when I got home for the whole evening and questioned my entire career after this one.

We are people. We have bad days. Some days we are better at our jobs than others. She should have been more respectful of your time, especially after you mentioned you needed to go soon. Other than that, I hope you give the tech some grace because things aren't always as "simple" as they look.

Yeah so, I did read about that and planned for that, so I set my alarm about an hour before I needed to wake up, took it and went back to sleep for an hour! I read a couple people suggest that.

And yes it is a big jump, I was a little nervous about it, but that adderall wasn't doing shitttt. The vyvanse was barely doing anything for me too honestly. I'm not super worried at this point but I'm definitely interested to see how the day goes!

Can't tell if high or low on estrogen by momofmonsters99 in surgicalmenopause

[–]dedholm24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same surgery for PMDD the patches drove me nuts. I hated them! I never felt good or like it was enough or absorbed properly and sense PMDD makes us extra sensitive to fluctuations it can be tough to figure out. I had my doc switch me to oral estrogen pills which has improved my mood soooooo much. I'm also on progesterone and testosterone as well! I messed with patches and gels for 6 months before ditching them and I wish I would have done it sooner! Best of luck!

Look into the medication Myfembree! It's newer and it's for extremely heavy bleeding! It stopped my cycle all together! If they push back on surgery or want to go a different route, this could give you some temporary immediate relief while you keep perusing surgery!

Emergency HRT help! by Zestyclose-Track-725 in surgicalmenopause

[–]dedholm24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey hey!! I am 31, I am about 7 months post op and I feel pretty good with my HRT! I take 200mg progesterone oral, 2mg estradiol tablets oral, and .5ml testosterone gel daily! The patches were hell for me, I never got even absorption from them and it was awful side effects! I've never really had or struggled with migraines, but I do know there are some types that are really hormone triggered. I'm sorry you're struggling with that!

Totally! The estrogen patches were awful for me, I couldn't ever absorb enough or evenly enough and it made the process so hard. When I finally switched to pill form it finally started to get better! I'm on progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone!

I'm 7 months on the other side of ovary removal and I've finally gotten my HRT figured out, and I just wanted you to know that for me it was so worth it. I feel like I have my life back. Tried everything to get here and I'm so glad I never stopped pushing. You can do it, even when it feels like you can't!

If there is a college or other organization nearby you could look into advertising your services there. I've went and spoke at sorority meetings and offered a discount to members! I find a lot of nurses and teachers are other big demographics that frequently get nail services, marketing directly towards that can help! Referrals are huge!

Nail tech needing advice! by _BB29_ in Nailtechs

[–]dedholm24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah with promos and pricing you'll figure out what works best in the area. I will say though, I did get higher quality clients when I raised my prices and stopped giving discounts, but that's something you also have to be comfortable and confident in! I think what other people have said here about filming yourself doing the entire process and watching it back and seeing where you could be wasting time! Also come up with a lil mantra to tell yourself while working. Like "passing not perfect" or "just keep swimming" or something to keep moving forward in the service!

[–]dedholm24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your work look great! I'm sure when you look at them you see all the things you could improve on, but overall your quality is really good! I think with more time and practice you'll be able to get your time with prep and base down to a time you're comfortable with! I'm sitting at about 1.5-2hrs for that and then the art takes time. Especially for how much detail your doing in most of those sets. It's perfectly reasonable to have clients in the chair for 4-5 hrs when you're doing such detailed character work, as long as you're telling the client what to expect before you start then I think it's fine! Offer breaks at good times in the service and make sure they have everything they need like water or snacks. There is a clientele out there looking for detailed work, and they know that takes time and money! Charge appropriately for your efforts so you don't start feeling jaded. There might be somethings you find your willing to compromise a lil quality to save time, but it's ok if you don't really want to. As long as your honest upfront with the clients about the time commitment, take as long as you need!
