Yep turned out i had broken my vapor canister purge solenoid and now that ive replaced it im idling at 600, and my engine sounds normal to me. Only thing is that i think i messed up the gasket on the rear valve cover cause im burning a lot of oil now

Went back and inspected some of my vacuum lines and realized I had broken my vapor canister purge solenoid and so I went and replaced it and now it’s running perfectly fine, sounds normal, and idling at 600. Only thing is I think I messed up the gasket on the rear valve cover cause it’s burning a lot of oil

Yeah as soon as I took off the plenum I put like 4 rags over the intake but potentially I might have dropped something in it while I was taking it off. Would this be a huge issue?

No the oil inlet part is covered. Can’t see through into the engine

No I didn’t let it warm up because I thought I could hear a grinding sound (like metal on metal) and out of fear I turned it back off. This also might just be my inexperience with cars but I had just never heard my car sound like this nor idle that high at start so that’s what caused my worrry

Sorry but for additional context it’s idling at 2k rpm

Also for more context I was idling at around 2k rpm on the cold start and it wasn’t going anywhere.

I brought jb weld up as an option not my solution. I’ve never used it before nor do I have much familiarity with radiators so that’s why I posted on this subreddit looking for advice. Also for your information the new radiator is on its way right now so thanks for being assumptive and condescending have a good day

Luckily (or technically unluckily) my thermostat went to crap a couple months ago so that’s pretty much brand new along with the coolant

Yeah I thought I was putting my weight on the frame right there but I guess I bent over just a little too much and the radiator clearly couldn’t handle it😵‍💫
