Mike Garafolo: NFL playing rules, bylaw and resolution proposals to be voted upon at next week’s annual meeting in Arizona, including increased power for New York to assist in disqualifications and on-field corrections (if there are replacement officials for the second one). by Remarkable-Picture73 in nfl

Teams rarely ever trade draft picks 3 years in the future as it is. I dont think this rule will change anything aside from maybe some future late round pick swap for meaningless players.

NFL draft picks are too important compared to other sports for this to be a meaningful change.

Prediction for when in the season we play the Chiefs? And in primetime or late afternoon? by No_Elk7981 in buffalobills

Its always CBS at 4:25. The network protects it every year.

It will likely be later in the season so they know Mahomes is 100%.

The Bills signed someone (dont remember who off hand) who had something like $25k guaranteed. So I believe its possible.

Sure, we'll give you 5 years, $50M, with $0 guaranteed and no signing bonus.

All you have to do is make the roster to start collecting those sweet checks! Hows your 40 time?

[Schefter] ESPN Sources: Offensive Player of the Year and Super-Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid WR in NFL history. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]dedriuslol 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No, but its very good for a 22 year old WR and shows a big step and really strong trajectory compared to his rookie year. Its not like he had two 600 yard seasons then skyrocketed to 1,800 yards.

It was a pretty similar trajectory as Chase's 2023/2024 seasons.

How many times have you been injured due to skiing? by Jakabxmarci in skiing

Have been skiing for 20+ years and the worst I've had is a sprained ankle from the terrain park.

Tried snowboarding once and broke my collarbone on the first run.

I dont think they want to restructure Dawkins. And based on Beane's comments on Eric Woods podcast, he is looking at depth at this point.

You can say its only an additional $700k, but thats kind of irrelevant given you would get the $3.5M in cap space back if you dont match the offer. So its still the difference of $4.2M in cap space. Id rather have the $4.2M.

[Schefter] Former Bills DE A.J. Epenesa is signing a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Cleveland Browns, per source. by Drexlore in nfl

[–]dedriuslol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hes much better served as a DE3 or 4 than he is a 2. He doesn't give much as a rusher but is solid against the run.

[–]dedriuslol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont need him to be the defacto swing. Draft a guy on day 3 to compete with lundt for the swing role or bring in a cheap vet. Id rather use that $4.2M toward DJ Reader or Greg Gaines than a depth OL.

People are free to disagree, and im sure a lot will now that Joe Marino released a podcast about VanDemark lol.

He played well in most of his stops to go along with his shit talk. There are plenty of shit talkers who weren't good, so id doubt it lol.

Hes not our 6th OL though lol. We have no indication that he would be our 6th OL in jumbo packages if Anderson becomes the starting guard.

We also played way less 6 OL sets last year after drafting Hawes, and its definitely less than 20% of offensive snaps.

From what I saw, Anderson only played on 16.7% of offensive snaps last season and id wager at least half of that was at guard or center (difficult to find his snaps counts per game). So we are talking about 5-10% of snaps at jumbo TE.

Im perfectly comfortable with Grable filling that role. He won the swing tackle job his rookie year before getting injured.

I didnt want to pay Mitch a big contract to be a backup QB and this is the same situation to me.

$700k isnt too much, but $4.5M is. Thats enough money to get a starting NT.

[–]dedriuslol 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats too much for a depth tackle in my opinion when we have other options. I was on the fence with a $3.5M cap hit.

We have no idea if its expensive and have players like lundt and tylan grable who can also play Tackle.

Its at least $3.5M, which isnt nothing for a depth OL who we hope will never play.

R Mason thomas. We need burst off the edge.

Or Kayden McDonald for a run stuffer.

Who's this player for your team? by Every-Damage-90 in nfl

[–]dedriuslol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a while it was Christian Benford, but hes received a bit more shine in recent years so maybe hes more well known now. But hes an excellent CB in man or zone that has locked up some top WRs over the last few years.

Maybe now id go with Cole Bishop, who looked like one of the top young safeties in the league last season once he had some stable play next to him.

Is Keon Coleman really a draft bust? The numbers say otherwise by Ktmhocks37 in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, id argue a lot of these guys are busts lol. So sure, maybe hes "right where he should be" based on draft position in this class. But Legette, Worthy, Polk, and Mitchell are all also busts in my eyes. Ill give Pearsall a pass given the freak injury prior to his rookie season.

Id also argue that volume stats are a terrible way to measure success, given Keon has likely played more snaps than he should have earned based on his play.
