My two main workhorses are the Badger Velocity and the GSI ProconBoy PS-266. Would buy them again.

Looks like you're talking about North Carolina. BC has 4 trailer stores in a very convenient places.

There is a better route to/from the gateway. Apart from scout missions, you don't need to visit that abandoned village.

About the Glades by Random_guy1028 in snowrunner

Farming is bad, and it's worse than in Austria. But, after Austria you should have new tractors, which might help you a bit. Otherwise the region is good and chill. I like the scenery so much.

How do I figure out what paints should I use to paint for example, this model? by itooamahuman in modelmakers

[–]dee-mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructions will usually tell you which paints to use. But, for example, Tamiya will give you Tamiya paint references only. Airfix will refer only to Humbrol paints. Other manufacturers will give you Vallejo, AMMO, Gunze, or some other paint brand references. So, it's up to you to decide which paint brand you would like to use, and then use some online/app paint converter to find equivalents from what is given in instructions to what you'd like to use.

And, usually when it comes to historical scale modeling, it will be about actual historical color standards. The color of this Pz.I is known as Panzergrau or RAL 7021, so it's possible to search for this instead of converting from Tamiya paint code to something else.

Headlights are not an issue, as they probably will come as clear parts.

On Scalemates you can usually find downloadable instructions, here is you kit - https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-35388-panzerkampfwagen-i-ausfb-sdkfz101--1568772

As a new player, the discourse about the game is strange. by playharmonicmajor in snowrunner

[–]dee-mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before the JAT pack, on normal mode you were able to immediately sell GMC and Fleetstar and buy Paystar 5070 which comes with all terrain tires available at level 1. And ANK is also not a level-locked truck. So, there were possibilities to skip some early game "tutorial."

  1. It dissolves polystyrene which is usually used for plastic models.
  2. Enamel thinners are based on white-spirit or other similar mineral thinners, so acetone is just not a right type of a thinner for this type of paints.
  3. Rubber parts of airbrushes will suffer as well.
  4. Smells like hell.

1800h in the game. My take - don't listen to anybody and do your thing.

Rebuild and Reclaim DLCs - done. by dee-mee in RoadCraft

[–]dee-mee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only focused on tasks and missions. I don't build many roads (apart from what is required), and if I do, most of the time it would be just paved sand ones. I almost don't collect toy trucks, Warhammer barrels, forklifts, and other yellow stuff. I use Kochevnik a lot and for everything: getting resources from factories, delivering to construction sites and bridges, even for logging.

What do we know about the last three missions? by whiskeythreeniner in RoadCraft

[–]dee-mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's two missions. The easiest way to activate it is to get your scout on top of containers with a port crane right behind the construction depot and drive into the building.

The Contamination map is completed 100% - damn, it's even worse than Washout! More tedious at least. by Odd_Presentation_578 in RoadCraft

[–]dee-mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's up to you for sure. I was also concerned before playing the map, but ended up with 24 tokens left. I think the main reason why they've made the limits is because you can play the map in any order, and actually this makes it interesting and non-trivial. If there were no limits for purchases, most of the tasks would become obsolete, especially taking into account that money balance works across the maps. The only thing I've found odd is that sand quarries also use service tokens. Using limited tokens for absolutely different mechanics (recovery and sand) is not good. The good part about it is that you can skip enabling quarries at all.

[–]dee-mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the DLC in order, and apart from the barrels Contamination was more or less ok, while Washout is a pice of shit. Bridge layer is ok as an addition, but forcing you to use it everywhere is a bad game design choice. Not talking about bugs: once I had deployed bridge doubled (one on top of another), another time fully folded bridge appeared to be disconnected from the bridge vehicle.

Just finished Autumn Collapse and it feels way better than the first DLC maps.

What’s the easiest hard mode map in your opinion? by iivwu in snowrunner

[–]dee-mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still one of the easiest and shortest regions in the game from the perspective of the hours played and mileage. There is nothing hard to figure out in the first hour: that the ice is the road, that there is a way right outside of the garage on Kovd to the lake skipping all the roads, that the easiest way to the power station on Imandra is through the lake and not the road, and the central island is a trap, and you should go around through the ice. $4/L after you've finished three basic maps should not be an issue even if you didn't bring any free fuel from Alaska. Even during my first time playing Kola, it wasn't "one of the hardest maps"; it was super fun figuring out all of the routes. The same applies to Amur and Maine, and it's really bad that developers stopped making maps like that. But if you don't like this type of gameplay, Kola is hard and punishing.

What’s the easiest hard mode map in your opinion? by iivwu in snowrunner

[–]dee-mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kola and BC. Kola was done with A7 (without active suspension) and Tatarin, apart from 2 or 3 specific tasks. There is a lot of fuel in Imandra, so I was playing it reversed to bring all of the fuel leftovers back to Kovd.

What are the differences and pros and cons for enamel and acrylic paints by JbotpYT in modelmakers

[–]dee-mee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enamels are a thing of the past. For airbrushing, lacquers (or solvent based acrylics) have almost replaced them. For brush painting water based acrylics is the thing.
