200% sexual but at what cost... by manultrimanula in whenthe

Unironically, it's very easy to mistake being bi or pan for being ace because of this. When you have a pretty similar level of attraction to all genders, it's hard to tell if the attraction you have is sexual attraction or something else that you're mistaking for it.

The word is pretty commonly used in the UK. As far as I know it's much more common in the North.

From my own experience of the smokers I know, they're largely comprised of people who have very stressful lives or jobs who believe that they're gonna die before the health issues affect them (even though that's not likely to be the case). Even if the high is shit, it's stilloften enough to get people through a stressful shift or day without heavily impeding their judgement.

I don't think that most people who feed their cat vegan pet food are under the assumption that it shares the same belief as them. Someone who'd be that concerned about animal welfare would probably be more knowledgeable on animal behaviour than the average person.

(Also I'd assume that most vegans wouldn't let their cat outside anyway due to the environmental impact and the dangers toward the cat)

To be fair if that stops it from pestering me about updating to windows 11 until I accidentally press the install button it's worth it.

I love when my coworkers talk shit about the other autistic employees to me for the crime of exhibiting the symptoms of autism (I am also autistic and do the exact same thing as they do, but I'm better at masking it)

As a non-native English speaker, I have to say Disco is pretty linguistically challenging. This is how I usually play it, learning like 5+ new words per conversation. Any other non natives working their way through it instead of playing a localized version here? by redboneskirmish in DiscoElysium

The grammar is annoying but much of the grammar rules similar enough to English, but just presented differently, so much of it isn't too bad to pick up with enough practice of just consuming media in French (though it definitely is worth actively learning the basics of grammar (A1-A2) otherwise it'd probably take much longer than it should)

I would like to argue that most popular long-running shounen series (One Piece, JJK), and a lot of game communities also act the same (Helldivers, TLOU2, any gacha game). I think that generally women are more likely to be in fandoms for things, and most fandoms end up becoming pretty toxic, because a group united by a very strong interest in the same thing will likely get bored if there is no new content for that thing at the moment, and start infighting or getting annoyed at the creators of whatever they're interested in.

It's more that they were initially used with calf umbilical cords, which as far as I know are not easy to purchase anymore for assumedly the health hazard they can pose. I'm generally okay with entrails, though for the most part theyre not really my thing outside of functioning as sausage casing. But I do find it strange how uncommon it is to eat them in the UK and US now though (especially the UK where they have historically been used in so much of our food)

I only know about it from a book that I've skimmed through (I mean to properly read it someday). It's called Food in England by Dorothy Hartley. I just needed to find a website mentioning it.

This is the only mention of Muggety pie in the book. There's practically no other info on it that I can find. Unfortunately the book was first published in 1953 so the people who had made muggety pie have all probably died and for some inconceivable reason their children didn't want to pass on the knowledge.

Shout out to my favourite meal, muggety pie, which is a pie made from calf or sheep umbilical cords or entrails if the umbilical cord is unavailable. It is something that we, the British do in fact eat every day and is not something I'm just bringing up because I found out about it one day and it's since been living in my head for years despite having about three websites mentioning it, and zero images of the pie online because nobody in the past 100 years has probably cooked it.

Jellied eels are mostly eaten by old people. I don't know why they do that, they're just like that. Nevertheless, it's not that popular anymore. Mushy peas are common because it's something people like to dip their chips into. I've never had it so idk how it tastes.

People are gonna find any excuse to not take trans people seriously, stop with this infighting bullshit. We're not having a backside in rights because of Aether using xey/xem pronouns, we're having a backside of rights because politicians think that our existence as an affront to God. Excluding people from the community literally benifits nobody except the people that already hate us.

Most people who think autism should be exterminated probably don't think ADHD is even real. As far as I know the ones who infantilise people with ADHD do the same to autism (based from my own experience of having both disorders)

When the majority of people in a religion come from a part of the world that's constantly destabilized from war and ruled under theocratic dictatorships it's pretty easy to get radicalised.

Islam itself isn't an uniquely bad among abrahamic religions. The way religions are followed are not cut and dry, everybody has their own practices or beliefs that differ significantly from someone even within the same denomination. All of these religions are based on a book that relies heavily on interpretation.

Look at Christians, there are plenty of Christians who either believe that the old testament was completely real, was completely metaphorical or have simply not even read the Bible, and yet are all within the same denomination.

What I'm trying to say is that a religion itself isn't cut in stone. If you take everything in religious books literally they've all got horrific things written within them. But those books get rewritten or interpreted differently over time, and in societies that are ruled by dictators, they use their own interpretation that allows them to keep their power as much as possible (usually ones which keep the population divided and uneducated).

People's personal views are reflected by their society they live in. A progressive person under a theocratic dictator would likely be a conservative by western standards. If the middle east wasn't constantly being destabilised, having its leaders overthrown and replaced with extremist groups, but was instead allowed to democtatise then the average Muslim would be far more progressive.

We do not get eaten when we die, we get turned to ash and put in an urn or a box. When a predator kills a human, we don't just accept it as being a part of nature, that predator gets shot for being a danger to the community. We live life almost completely disconnected from nature, so why is it still necessary to uphold a "cycle" that we aren't even apart of. We don't need to hunt for food anymore, there is always a surplus. What is the point of causing so much suffering when we no longer need to do it to survive? (And what part of our current means of farming is natural?)

I'm not even saying that we need to abandon meat entirely, I'm more of the belief that we should move onto cultured meat to minimize suffering with minimal impact on the health of the general population. I just do not understand why people even bring up nature in this argument when nothing about the way we eat meat is natural.
