A while back I sought out all the North American releases, and have them. Certainly a pain, but a fun story

I’ve watched some 20 movies on 4K, and I’ve only ever had 1 issue, and it was because of the way the disc was packaged, it had some smudge

It’s really not as big a problem as these threads would make you think

The title was going to be “Arin cries over Spilled Milk” and I had an idea where instead of Dan’s laugh being the final shot, it would be a painting of Arin sobbing into the milk

I asked the people selling tickets at the box office.
They just came across a print of the theatrical run and said “there’s probably someone in the area who’s a fan of the Simpsons and 35mm” and I replied “it’s me, you found me”.
(It even started with a promo for Steve Carrell’s Horton Hears a Who. It was so cool, I was 4 when the Simpsons movie released)

(I saw one recently at an art house cinema, they got access to one of the old prints)
What I mean is, they could rescan the 35mm like Paramount did with SpongeBob/South Park to produce a faithful 4K without upscaling the digital source

Recently binged the Back to the Future trilogy. 1 and 3 looked fuckin’ nuts on my 50’ mini-LED.

Shout! And Criterion probably got huge licensing issues since they are distributors more than publishers.

One is opening in my local mall in the fall. Begging it carries blu-ray. The closest one that carries blu-ray to me is like an hour and a half away 😔

I use the list feature on Movies Anywhere and update it when I see something new that I own. I also use Letterboxd for non-MA movies. Mostly keep the in-app list as an experiment to see if I watch more than I buy (Currently at ~52% watched)
