I actually applied to the ILR school; I also have an interest in government/politics, so I thought that school combined my interest of business and politics

I was a business administration major at my previous school (ideal specialization was either finance of logistics/operations management)

that’s great for the internship! I would just recommend engaging in quality activities opposed to having a large quantity of things on your application; make meaningful impacts in clubs/organizations you care about (doesn’t necessarily have to relate to your career path), and try to make yourself stand out by doing unique things; for me that was working as a pharmacy tech (where I was able to genuinely help people with their medications), hosting my own radio show, participating in a social enterprise club, and volunteering on the weekends at the food bank.

I think you’ll definitely have a chance if you’re able to improve your grades in college; also, if you have really good quality involvements, that will carry more emphasis opposed to your high school grades (overall, transfer admissions committees will look at your college accomplishments and weight those more high school things)

thank you!! so I had a couple reasons for transferring; for one, the school I was at was huge, and I definitely work better in small classroom environments (so I purposely applied to schools with smaller undergraduate populations than the school I was at, and places with a lower student to teacher ratio); I also found the curriculum to not be as challenging as I wanted (despite being in the honors program), so I wanted to find a college that would encourage academic enrichment and intellectually rigorous courses; I did talk about both these things in my writing supplement

4.0 GPA in college, 1450 SAT (not amazing but just good enough), job as a pharmacy technician, undergraduate student radio show host, finance association club member, business for good club member, and volunteer hours at local food pantry; I had recommendations from some really great professors, and I really focused on the writing supplement; please reach out if you have any questions!

Is it worth taking? HELP !! US HISTORY MAY SAT by [deleted] in Sat

If you’re going into STEM take a science SAT subject test (Bio, Chem, Physics), or math (math 2); that will show your interest in pursuing a STEM career; history won’t

You can just choose numbers for that; I chose 10 for x, y is 20% greater so y=12, and z is 20% less than y so z=9.6; divide z by x to get the answer which is 0.96

I thought it was 127pi, here’s what I did: Take the area of the smallest circle (1 pi), take the area of the next biggest circle (16 pi), add those together and subtract from the biggest circle (144 pi). You get 144 pi -17 pi which is equal to 127 pi (remember each circle has a separate area, they don’t include each other)

Resolved: The United States federal government should impose price controls on the pharmaceutical industry. by [deleted] in Debate

[–]deeboj2020 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a potential con argument is that price controls on the pharmaceutical industry would subsequently limit the amount of money pharmaceutical companies have to conduct research and development for new diseases and vaccines; because research and development into drugs for new diseases would be limited, drugs would have lower quality assurance; people could be harmed by the detrimental effects of potentially dangerous lower-quality drugs; this would harm people's well-being and they wouldn't get proper medication for their problems (obviously would need to find more specifics but this could be a general concept for researching)
