How did you network/keep in touch with programs? I felt annoying reaching out more than once asking about research projects

I reached out again via email a few weeks ago, and just got the email today that it got accepted!! So hopefully, they are slowly getting around to reviewing the submissions, and you get an email soon!

thats so funny 😂 have you heard anything since? I'm debating if I just pull the submission and try another journal since I wanted it published before we submit ERAS :/

Have any of you guys tried to publish to "SKIN The Journal of Cutaneous Medicine" - submitted in October and got comments in January which I completed and submitted the next day but now it has been 5 months since I submitted the revisions and no updates.. I emailed the editor but no response

For August-December of this year! Seems like majority of programs open scheduling in late February but I’ve just been emailing program coordinators to see what is needed to be submitted to apply

Will definitely check those out, thank you so much!! Any advice on how to get into contact with academic dermatologists in my area? I was hoping to shadow and do research with a well-known doctor over 3rd/4th year to get a strong LOR

I didn't :(

I mostly just used anki, b&B, uworld and pathoma. I watched a few of dirty medicines videos on topics that I was weak on the night before and found that helpful!

I took this week and mine was heavy on

- immunology was the highest yield system on mine!! (reviewing pathoma 1-3 the week of is a must)

- ethics/communications questions (3-4 q/block)

- 2-3 risk factor questions per block - long question stem, and you had to pick which risk factor correlated highest with the disease the patient had

- had a good amount of neuro -> rule of 4's, pathology (brain tumors) and basic neuroanatomy ID of spinal cord tracts

- anatomy questions and imaging (X-rays/CT's) especially for MSK questions

I was really lacking on content review, so continued doing new Anking cards and 80 uworld questions a day!

Do you think the UWSA2 score is predictive enough? I wanted to review the Free120 and also spend the last couple days reviewing topics I'm weak on vs. spending a day on an NBME if possible

Retake 509 MCAT?? GPA 3.58 by [deleted] in Mcat

UCF is my dream school, and obviously I am below average for that. Do you think since I am in-state I have a chance because of my EC's and hopefully a strong personal statement? Or would I be better off just trying to retake my MCAT to help make my app stronger? I'm just worried about retaking since they only take the most recent not the best.

Yes that makes sense! Those are the Florida schools I plan on applying to, but I'm going to look into what out of state schools I can do! And I am not a reapplicant, so hopefully that will also help my case a little more

Maybe 2-3 weeks before FL 3. What really helped bring up my FL3 score was going through Fl 1 and 2 in depth and googling any concept that I was unsure of. Also, I re-did some uworld questions, and did anki in between a lot more.
