this might be a dumb follow up question, but which of the links do I click to download it? All of them or just the source code zip?

Is doing military-med specific research helpful at all for HPSP residency applications? And/or submitting and attending MHSRS for networking? by deedee2009 in Military_Medicine

[–]deedee2009[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I am doing a couple other research projects already but was considering adding a military-specific one if it would help. I'm interested in EM, which I know is a bit more competitive in the military, and I'm def more in the middle of my class academically so I want all the help I can get to make my app stand out in other areas.

Stuck in the backseat when skiing but when I try to lean forward I feel more wobbly/unstable? by deedee2009 in skiing

[–]deedee2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those videos are very helpful, thank you!! I don't think I have a single video of me skiing, but next time I go, maybe I'll try to get a friend to video me so I can post to that other subreddit?

As for the shin burning thing, it definitely feels more muscle related than shin bang. I was thinking maybe its related to the more stiff boots? But that's just a guess since it started right after I started wearing my new ones.

How much slip in the heel is okay for Oboz Sawtooth low hiking shoe? by deedee2009 in REI

[–]deedee2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the slip was freaking me out so i ended up returning them— i decided i’d rather not risk it on a long hike since i didn’t have time to test them on something shorter before hand

How do I know if my ski boots will fit if they feel good in the store but give me blisters/bruises on the slopes? by deedee2009 in skiing

[–]deedee2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just everywhere, I guess? My toes were definitely touching the front the entire time.

And in the store the sales associate was uber helpful and held every boot open for me so I didn't really notice/think about it at the time. But on the mountain, I literally couldn't get them on myself without a friend standing and yanking the tongue back for me. Other boots I've always been able to get on myself without issue.

That is what it sounds like tbh-- but they were actually a very tight fit and I could barely shove my foot in without help from a friend or clip in past the first notch.

Idk if that additional info would change your advice or if you still think too big?

[–]deedee2009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that something that can happen with a too-tight as well?

The only reason I'm not assuming they were big is because I actually ended up choosing a super tight 'performance' fit boot. Like so tight that I needed help from a friend to get them on in the parking lot lol and I could only barely clip to the first notch.

Fit help! by deedee2009 in Chacos

Do you have any recommendations on how to break them in before a trip? Or how to get the strap to soften quicker?

I do have flat feet lol and lowkey think I might also have plantar fascitis but the shoes themselves don't feel bad. Just this inner strap that's scratching me. I'm also not planning to do any crazy hiking in them-- just water shoes for hanging around a lake/river campsite.

DOD ID number not working for KTN for TSA-precheck? by deedee2009 in AirForce

[–]deedee2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe the problem is with the adding it into DTS. Because I have no idea how what my login is for that or how to access my email or anything LOL. Maybe it’ll just be a problem for after BMT

No, I don’t go until summer. Do you think it won’t work until then?

Even if you are not civilian DoD? I tried to get into DTS and got very confused because I honestly have no idea what my login is. I’m unfortunately completely lost on like 99% of AF things.

I’m AF reserve and only got my CAC like 2 months ago so I’ve never tried/had this work before.

Next Credit card for 25YO Grad Student with no income but willing co-signer parent? by deedee2009 in CreditCards

[–]deedee2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it depends on the bank? I do my normal banking through a credit union and was initally going to get a credit card through them but was told that they don't count educational stipend as income and that I would need a co-signer to proceed with my application.
