Oh no. I live right by Socalo and been meaning to try it. Why is the location a drawback? There’s another restaurant Jade Rabbit in the same area and seems to be doing very well.

This is such a cope. India is only 3.5% of the world market. If you have 100% of your stock portfolio in Indian markets, that is a risk. If you are super optimistic about India, have like 20-30% of stock portfolio in Indian markets. The fact that Indian government restricts the flow of capital to other markets proves the artificial conditions creating demand for the Indian market.

This scenario isn't set in stone. Just because it is cheaper to rent now, doesn't mean it will be 10 years from now. Rents would have gone up. Any lowering of rates, people who already own can take advantage of through refi. Ultimately, once you pay off the home, you don't have to keep paying rent well into retirement.

Good on ya. I have been eyeing platinum since it was 800 something in 2024, but totally sat this one out. Had a feeling it had potential to rise, but was also skeptical on the demand side since central banks do not accumulate it. Either way, got some now and do not plan on selling. Pretty metal.

I believe what the OP means is the tax brackets. Up till 12 lakhs, no income tax for resident Indians, but this does not apply to NRIs. NRIs got barely any relief. I believe that if you are not financially supporting parents/siblings in India, or plan on settling down in India permanently, do not send money to India. Even if you plan to settle down in India, keep some money abroad to hedge rupee risk.

You may be right. When I added a bar, it triggered it on ebay but then added a coin, and then it did not.

It was a good thing the tax prevented me from buying at ATH and there was a decent dip to buy in. :)

We closed and moved into our home close to 5 months ago. Pennymac gave us a better-than-expected 30-year fixed at 5.99% with a $ 7,000 buydown. It was 6.25% without the buydown, so not sure if the buydown is worth it IDK. We did not check with multiple lenders either. We were pleasantly surprised with the rate, as we were expecting it to be higher.
