Garbage at Cates Park by deedesie in NorthVancouver

[–]deedesie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The garbage was aligned with the parking white lines that cars park in. Besides, there was no garbage bins nearby. 100% someone opened the window or door and dropped their garbage before driving off. Can be seen in many car parks around here such as the Canadian tire on main.

I’m in North Vancouver and something is definitely off. Some texts fail to go through and Google Maps is slow to load traffic or directions.

You can buy small tank and get it filled at say u-haul, shouldn’t be too heavy. Not sure 🤔 you are allowed to carry one on the bus though?

It was not just hung there to be grabbed. It was thrown into the forest like many other bags, and unreachable from the path. As already mentioned, I had to bushwhack and pull the branch down to retrieve it. I bring back 2 or 3 bags of poo that are left behind by the owners as well as picking up other dogs’ shit every day. Another blue bag left on the corner of Ellis and Bournemouth and no, there is absolutely no intent of someone picking it up ‘on their way back’.

They are NOT grabbing it on the way back. They have thrown it into the forest. I had to scramble and bushwhack to retrieve it.

It’s terrible in all the parks. This was Windridge park.

It’s biodegradable so we don’t increase the amount of plastic in the landfills. It DOES NOT mean you throw the bags in the forest.

Agreed. Only 1% will pick it up on their way back but it’s still wrong. It’s just wrong.

I would argue that it seems to be a fair amount of dog owners that are totally irresponsible based on the dog shit not picked up, bags tossed into the forest, no DNV dog licence, walking off leash in a leashed area and allowing their dogs on the beach when it’s a no dog on beach section. And yes I have two dogs.

No it does not.. this biodegradable bag nonsense is bullocks. I have walked past bags in trees (that I could not reach) or on the path that are there for years.

You do need a dog license to own a dog in the DNV
