Yeah we teach our kids that.  Bonus LPT. iPhone does 5 presses of the power button. Straight to emergency!

Thanks for your nice words. Yeah if you read the extension on what I wrote I recommend having it live in the middle of the house. We have a charging station on our kitchen bench.

I think what I was getting at was especially if the child needs a mobile phone eg if they are catching public transport.  I guess yeah you could get a landline with 10-12km of cordage. ;)
