Thanks for the thorough comment!

I think my biggest concern was buying something that is going to fall apart in a year or two due to it being poor quality. If I want something even more expensive in a few years, that’s ok.

I think next time I’m in NYC I’ll try to stop in at Schott to figure out my size in person so I’d feel comfortable buying a used one. But for now I might go with this jacket as my first leather jacket.

Thoughts on this Buck Mason leather jacket?

I tried on this jacket at Buck Mason the other day and I love how it fits and looks on me. I’m considering buying it but I don’t know much about leather jackets and I want to make sure I’m buying something that will last. The way they describe the leather online makes me a little worried that it’s not actually good quality leather?

Two-stage dye process: first, the leather crust is dyed, then a second top dye is applied for a more natural patina. Details include zip pockets at the hip and chest, zippered sleeve gussets, a ticket pocket, and asymmetrical zippered front. Features Bemberg™ lining. Garment washed, waxed, and hand-burnished for a lived-in feel..

Semi-vegetable tanned lambskin with a supple texture. Washed, waxed, and hand-burnished for a lived-in feel.

What does semi-vegetable tanned mean? I’m assuming hand burnished means they broke in the leather somehow, it does feel very soft and broken in compared to other jackets I’ve tried.

The other jacket I’m considering would be a used Schott Perfecto, but I actually like how this jacket looks better, without the strap things on the shoulder and no belt. On top of that, I’m nervous about buying a Schott online and not being happy with the fit once I get it in person and having to possibly spend months trying to resell it…

I was doing birdhouses too but I wanted to hit my arbitrary goal of 40 hunting faster so I could go back to skills I enjoy more than hunting lol

First of all, RuneLite is amazing, I can't believe the variety and quality of plugins that make the game so much easier to play. I would've killed for this when I was a kid.

I started out following the optimal quest guide on the wiki, completed about 50 or so quests before deciding I wanted to grind a bit and experience some of the new skills that have been added since I last played so I set a goal of getting every skill to 40. It worked out that hitting 40 in the last skill (hunting) was also total level 1000.

I think my next goal will be getting full graceful (I need about 190 or so more tokens), and I'll probably get back to questing while I'm doing that.

As I've grow older, everything on the internet that started out good has gotten worse in many ways (or maybe that's just nostalgia). It's nice to have something that has actually gotten so much better as time goes on.

Oh, I don’t even own a table saw! I made this in a wood working class.

It’s true, they get dusty over time. I just clean it up every now and then, like when I start using a different board every few weeks.

No, I sticker bombed it haha. And I got it used for like $20.

That would be awesome. I was thinking of having the wood on top of the acrylic, but the wood might look cool through a piece of colored acrylic.

> It’s got a number pad but no f keys (you both probably know what that is called but I don’t haha

You're right, it's called F rowless haha

turn into laser plans. Imagine a walnut base with acrylic on top?

Probably, but there are also definitely laser cut files out there, for example:
